今年英文朗誦節的文章中, 有一句子為
I want to be a .......

請問應朗讀成
I “wanna” be a .......
還是
I “want” “to” be a ........

請指教

應該是用iambic ﹐ (a metrical foot consisting of one short syllable followed by one long syllable or of one unstressed syllable followed by one stressed syllable)

I "WANT" to "BE" a "??"--(boat?Sheep?)

我兒子小一那篇亦有 "I want to be a....",  老師的Demo是讀 " i "want" to be a.....而不是 I "wanna".....

你可以考慮下....

你的小朋友是讀那一年級? 是否第一次參加, 我的是第一次, 有些緊張....

Sorry I don’t understand what the iambic is. Anyway, do you have any further advice?

I think both P1 and P2 students have the same poem as the topic for my son is also "The Window Cleaner".  

Actually, the eng teacher of my kid has posted up the sample for parents' reference at school website.  If you have interest, I can PM you where can you visit and take a look for reference.

啊﹗現在你給我整句就更容易了﹐你看看整句﹐有十個音﹐
"I want to be a win-dow clean-er man"
而重音就是在第二﹐四﹐六﹐八﹐十哪裡。
如果是雙數的音要放重音﹐就叫IAMBIC勒。
現在有五組這樣的輕重排列﹐我們稱之為IAMBIC PENTAMETER。 是最常見的英文詩歌讀法。

聽起來﹐想這樣﹕
I WANT(高音) TO BE (高音) A WIN-(高音) DOW CLEARN(高音)-ER MAN (高音)

這樣可以嗎﹖

wanna係口語,唔係規範既英文,朗誦對字音準確度要求比日常說話高.want to點睇都冇可能讀成wanna.
近似既例子:"我今年二十歲",朗誦時唔會讀成"我今年廿歲".

Want to之中既to應輕讀,重音(stress)落係個want,to不會讀成two,而是近乎te,音長較短.

Today, my son takes part the speech competition. He speaks the window cleaner. Some kids have more feelings in their voice and speak out well. Some kids are normal speaking. I and other parents surprise that the top three of kids do not speak very well at all. They speak out loudly and clear only. For this experience, loudly speaking are most important.    

After the competition, the marker tell us...

Fristly, you feel very very happy and smile " When I grow up, I want to be a ........."
Last, you feel very very worry " I hope the wind won't blow."

Thank you for your sharing.  May I know which competition venue did you go?  Was the competition conducted in formal stage??  As it's the first time for my kid to take part the competition.

My kid took part the competition first time too. He was shy and afraid. Luckily, his number was 25. he saw many kids to show before. He got Merit (82 marks). 85 marks is second prize and 84 marks is third prize. Over 80 marks are Merit.

I went to Kwai Chung centre (YMCA). My kid always go there to learn swimming and badminton every week. Therefore, it is very good condition for him. The stage is not normal size. It is very small and not tall. You can visit the centre with your kid before the competition for one or two times.

The requirements for Chinese and English speech are different.  Chinese speech performance usually has a lot of gestures and actions.  English speech prefers hands on the side, but some natural body movement is also OK.  The judge looks for a few things :-

1.  Everything should be expressed in the voice (i.e. describe all the words with your voice) - some judge listen and write at the same time without looking much at the performer.
2.  Facial expression is also important  (it also helps your voice expression)
3. Eye contact with the judge
4. Understand the poem and express the feeling (e.g. funny, happy, sad)
5. Smile and relax

因我小朋友比賽時間是學校午飯過后, 我們打算午飯時段立刻從學校前往比賽場地.    請問比賽當日, 小朋友應著校服或是便服出席比賽???   另外, 準時到達比賽場地便可 (因害怕人多, 做有足夠座位坐着等) 或 需要提早到達 (提早幾多呢 ) ???  

煩請告之, 等我能作出適合預備.  謝謝!!

無論是中文還是英文朗誦都是聲音的藝術,除非是指定要有動作的項目,否則動作只是其次。動作跟眼神、表情、形態等是為非語言表達方法。

朗誦的目標為:
聽之入耳、聽之入心、聽之動情、引起共鳴

朗誦節一般技術要求如下:
內容表達(主題之掌握、情感之表達)
聲調與節奏(發聲之清亮程度、聲調高低強弱之控制、節奏緩急之適當處理)
讀音(字音之正確、吐字之清晰)
其他(儀態等)
