小朋友小五升小六時轉Malvern Year 6, 1個月左右已完全適應，讀得非常開心。

不熟悉澳洲的大學，或者可以上心儀大學網頁看看。另外都可以在DSC Webinar 和school tour 的時候詢問學校如何支持澳洲升學，學校網頁都有放了學生University placement ，我見DSC說之前幾年有9%學生去澳洲升學，包括U Melbourne, Sydney, Queensland (sorry 不熟悉澳洲那間大學比較好，隨便在DSC website 抽幾個名寫出嚟)

不嬲有，外地剛來香港的人可能需要，大陸人也有佢地自己的agent, 本地人就好少需要幫襯。

請問一下，你覺得Malvern校風如何、教學和老師嚴謹嗎？我小朋友好hea，我驚變甩繩馬騮。

比起傳統學校，Malvern係天堂。功課唔多，上堂都係愉快學習，主要係寫感想同埋做research，着重閱讀同埋presentation 。P6有個PYPX，所以今年全年都好忙去搵資料做呢個presentation。最大分別係呢度既家長日由學生主導，學生要準備自己學左既野，係老師面前同家長分享自己呢個學期學左啲咩，有咩地方可改善。
老師都要求學生守規矩，例如係學校偷用電腦打機會被罰在校停用電腦兩星期，未做哂功課既學生就要係課堂上完成。

因為冇升中壓力，學生們都係處於開心既氣氛學習，阿仔就表示好鍾意呢間學校。至於校風方面，學生們都好友善，有遇到個別情緒管理有問題既同學，但老師好快就處理左。學生鍾意打機，所以學校搞活動都一直提倡無電子產品，不過佢地都係會偷偷玩。整體感覺啲學生主要係貪玩，可能係因為冇升中同考試壓力。

請問知道如果Malvern 插班year 8 會好難嘛？因為申請左year 7,佢地話已經係wait list, 所以推遲出年考year 8

It really depends to what kind of international schools you wish your kids to be at. Not all international schools are the same, just like local schools. The top tier ones are always full with long waitlist, for good reasons. The middle or lower tier IS will have more movement as people want to withdraw and move to better IS. First tier IS is very competitive and you need to know the game to secure a spot - unless your child is a genius or a professional athlete or some sort.

Second point regarding whether you need to hire an education consultant really depends on how much you understand the International School sector of HK. As I mentioned, not all IS are equal - they are vastly different. A good consultant can shorten your research time and help you secure a spot in the right school. But if you have great understanding about all the IS in HK, their differences, why some are popular and why some always have availability, details about entrance assessments - then you may not need one.
