想請教大家，兒子想留英讀 pharmacy 選校方面應跟據QS 排名還是學科排名？有學校Mpharm讀4年，有學校讀5年加pre-registration training ，亦有學校讀5年加foundation training.  謝謝大家

4年係獨master，要註冊一定要有一年placement的。5年加foundation包唔包嗰年實習？
仲有，唔少大學嘅藥劑係要interview架。

個人認為兩樣都重要。斷估你唔會將排行榜最頭嗰五間擺做你UCAS嗰五個choice啩。正常都會放一兩間reach school，跟住可能兩間保險少少嘅，或者會放一間好穩陣嘅。

五間都放reach school冇意思吖，就當你攞晒offer，咁meet到都實去firm choice。但係當你firm choice同insurance offer都係一樣嘅時候，基本上meet唔到就全軍覆沒喇。亦有未必間間都有offer嘅可能性...

所以reach school睇學校排名無可厚非，嗰啲safety school就要搵啲穩陣嘅，咁可能學校排名後少少，但係科排名高啲可能係better choice。

5年foundation training 果間係nottingham  *.This course integrates a 12 month Foundation Training placement into year five. You will be matched with quality placement experiences to suit your aspirations. After successfully completing 39 weeks (of your 52 week training) you will be eligible to sit the GPhC Registration Assessment. Once you've graduated and passed the GPhC's Registration Assessment you will be able to apply to the GPhC to become a fully registered pharmacist.

你咁排，記得報埋hk 藥劑守尾門。
UCL 要考筆試 面試。
med 今年派得好差，唔知下年點。藥劑要面試，有不穩定因素。qub 是哪間？你似乎只有一個insurance，所以報埋hk 安全d。

兒子留學第五年，已習慣慢活，打算留英發展所以不會報香港，感謝你的溫馨提示。QUB是Queen’s University Belfast 學科排名高，課程4年沒有placement ，雖然可以交少一年學費，但畢業後要自己搵公司實習，合格完成後才能註冊，有啲擔心。

FYIfriend UCL 4 years Pharmacy. 1 year placement at Boots. then exam and passed before the placement complete. Hired by Boots again as perm. Done.

要寫明在課程包實習的好似只有兩間，但我估計無實習嘅機會好細。你呢報呢5間學校，應該係無insurance 架啦，要考慮清楚。要placement，可以考慮揀Bradford做insurance.其實你仔在英國讀書，學校應該會俾advice。我仔報咩學校都係報完我先知道。

再多口一句，唔好以為predicted grade 靚就無敵，我真係聽過今年嘅學生predicted 4A* 係全炒。亦有考完後比predicted 少咗兩粒星。所以無hk 做backup 一定要小心。

學校advice 4間med 1間biomed ，老師提議gce 失手就先讀biomed 畢業後再報postgrad med認識一位本地生上年入med ，班上很多同學係postgrad 有護士、藥劑師、放射治療師…但沒有biomed ，med 競爭非常大，國際生學位非常少，兒子沒有太大信心，所以打算報三間藥劑，希望將來可以在醫院工作，但其實不清楚目前英國藥劑師前景
請問有沒有正在讀或已畢業的可以分享，謝謝大家

學校啱喎。一般嘅advice就係UCAS唔好報多過一科（medicine除外，要4+1），但係（2 med + 3 pharma）就要諗諗究竟係咪明智。因為PS只有一篇，你要寫到passionate about兩科（而又convicing）係好難嘅。最怕兩頭唔到岸，影響兩邊offer。

謝謝提醒，兒子上星期五問過學校話揀med + pharm PS 冇問題，啱啱見到Manchester u 話不接受pharm 作為第二選擇(如第一 med 或dent)

對呀，med+pharma係可能嘅組合，不過係4med + 1pharma，唔係2+3。4med令學校明白med先係第一摯愛，pharma係safety。2+3俾人嘅感覺係模稜兩可，或者信心不足。

1)FYI it is quite hard to get into hospital like NHS Pharm even after placement is completed. UCL frd with exp at Boots still cannot get in. 2) post-grad entry to Med (if keen on UK Med), requirement and competition is even much higher than undergraduate entry. If unfortunately no offer but keen on it,  gap year or re-apply can be considered. Frd failed to get in Med therefore took Bio-med at Warwick Yr1. Next year reapplied (with BMAT/UCAT and interviewed skills improved) and got in Med school yr 1. But bear in mind to check clearly which med school accepts re-apply and which don't.
