現就讀K1, 有需要在外自學phonics嗎?

目標是直資/私小，暫時學校教到單音，聽聞K2先教雙音，K3教blending, 對嗎?

如K2暑假去interview，按學校進度應未能在interview時自行閱讀一本英文故事書，咁我是否需要比小朋友K1下學期或之前外補phonics呢?

註: 父母對phonics完全冇認識。。。。

請現在家長指教，先謝!

小朋友掌握晒所有字母大小楷, 就可以去學。如果連26個字母都未識齊, 就慢慢嚟。讀故事書要whole reading+phonics, 英文字其實有一半係sight words, 要記的, 所以學phonics之餘必需接觸sentence, 另外, 有對好耳仔係非常重要, 佢哋會掌握得快好多~

I started at the beginning of K2, it worked well. The progress of St Cat's phonics is not as fast as my expectation, so my recommendation, learning more at external is helpful, at least at the beginning of K2.
