transferring from one ESF Primary to another

Does anyone have that experience, because of moving to another district , both schools are in HK Island but with different catchments. Can you share?
My friend is planning a move but not confirm yet, so doesn't want to bother the principal of current school yet. Hope to get initial information here first.  Cheers

Transfer is not compulsory. I moved 2 times and still stay in the same school. Up  ...

They'd love to stay in the current school. Problem is the no school bus from the new place to current school..
