ESF Abacus interview

Hi,  my son got the interview invitation.  Can anyone share how the group  interview be?  What will the kid do?  Will it be just like how the local kinders assess the kids?  Besides,  what is the chance on getting the offer if he is being short listed for interview?  Many thx.

Kinda of group play.  No worries.

2 years ago when my son had the interview, kids just played with the toys by themselves. The teaching staff would sit next to the kid and observe them playing and ask very simple questions. The whole process is very informal and purely play based. I recalled they have dinosaurs toys, doll house, books, play doh etc for kids to choose from.

Your son got accepted after the visit? I heard that child being invited to the visit would have a very high chance to get an offer, is that true? Do you know anyone was being rejected after the visit?

Congrats.  I went to the school tour last month and the principal said they rarely turned down any kids if they were invited for the interview.

No parent interview for kindergarten.  It is sort of parents briefings session.

O really? But the email mentioned it's parent meeting, which means group briefing instead of individual seesion? Mine is on Jan 14, how about yours?

Parent meeting is 1/14 6:00pm. It is for better understanding on their educational philosophy n curriculum n the purpose of play visit.  Saved in this, I don't think it is a patent interview

I don't have letter.  How about u?  My fd rec'd email as well. It seems that different campuses have diff practices.   From other discussion,  TY ESF sent letter rather than by mail.

Just asked the admission office.

They sent out the first batch of invitations already.  They have a 'random number' attached to each application.  If the number is big, it means it is on the waiting list (i.e. only will be invited if someone declines to join the school after the interview).
