我所認識嘅係全日班讀完k2全部上耀中小一，但係有好多都會當k3讀，照報外面小一。所以小二or above應該易入d.

非常感謝你的理解與支持！我們確實對香港的整個教育系統的狀況不瞭解，因為家族裏面有幾位的孩子也都是在香港的國際學校就讀后，考到英國的伊頓公學院，現在畢業于牛津和劍橋。但是他們都是在十年前的國際學校，現在的國際學校比當時緊俏多了。這是我們沒有瞭解到的，其實我們在內地一樣給孩子補習英文，也是純外教的，但是畢竟國內沒有香港的語言環境來的優秀，很多孩子不敢開口說，因為沒有環境刺激。我們自己擔心發音不准不好矯正，所以也不想給孩子帶去影響。

這些日子也一直與先生交流有關孩子的教育問題，其實我們一直被一個榜樣框住了。難道本地學校就沒有優秀的榜樣了嗎？！

說到港人對于大陸的一些情緒，其實我可以理解，因為確實大陸有部份人修養及素質太差了，有時作為本地人，我都不能認同，其實在每個地方都有素質參差，香港也一樣的。香港爲什麽可以廉潔奉公，大多數人自律，我想是因為從小德治的教育，法制嚴謹的約束，讓他們不敢去冒犯法律，這也是我們決定讓孩子來香港受教育一個非常重要的因素！但其實現在的香港和20年前我認識的香港已經在慢慢的變味了！如果很多的現實狀況我們無力去改變，那我想先做好自己最緊要。如果大家都能用同理心去理解和包容他人，我們的社會就會更和諧了！

多謝你的幫助！耀中我們正在確認中，如果沒有校巴來南區我們的住宅處，我們可能會考慮放棄，孩子年幼，如果把太多精力花在路途上對他也未必是好事。

There are many choices on Hong Kong Island: German Swiss, Hong Kong International School, Chinese International School. Call all of them and see how the waiting lists are. If you can pay the corporate debenture or something similar, you may be able to get priority. If your target is Oxbridge, these may be the schools you want. You may first study at Yew Chung or some of the schools mentioned above first and wait until a spot is available at those elite schools.

If your family members could enter Eton, I guess your family must have special elite status in China. For Hong Kong students, even if they have brilliant results and have some money, it's still even very very difficult to get into Eton.

我都識有國內人士考入 eton。
既然係你屋企人，你應該更清楚 eton 不是只看學生成績和水平，還看背景，讀那間學校反而影響不大。
比你入到 hkis，cis，都未必就等於易入 eton；其實背景，和有個靚 profile 先係最重要。
既然認定 eton 是目標，不如問你親戚好過。因為 eton 要一早就要考，現在步署得來都差唔多。
既然是國內 "有點地位"，你可找到的門路一定不少，應該不用來 ek 收風罷。 @@

Honestly, there are quite a few excellent international schools in mainland China, especially those in Shanghai and Beijing, except that they are all more expensive than those in Hong Kong. Moreover, the Guangzhou American School is also quite good, as one of my daughter's teachers once taught there and told me something about it. Aside from schools, it may be easier for you to find professional tutors in extracurricular activities in big cities in China. Forget about the local schools here, trust me, it may not be your cup of tea.

You can try Island Christian Academy, it is a new International school which is just opened this year. It may still has several available seats from Year 1 to Year 3 students. But as English is the dominant language of teaching, you might need to send your child to other class after school to enhance his/her Chinese.

謝謝你的關注，我不太瞭解你們說的“精英地位”是指什麽，其實我非常瞭解家族的背景，並不像你們想像的那樣的，充其量只能算是中產偏上，這樣的家庭，在香港應該是很多，也不是想像的那樣有政治背景。

可以和大家分享一個小插曲：當初這個孩子的父親希望他報考伊頓，孩子的老師說他的父親虛榮心很強，自不量力，根本是不可能的。而且這個孩子在報考伊頓時的英語其實是很差的，但是在面試的過程，他不知道與他對話的是校長，他竟然可以搭著校長的肩膀，與校長談話，最後學校就接收了他。”

不知道在這段小插曲里，我們可以感悟到些什麽呢？

你親戚形容的情形，細節有點怪，我看還是自己做點 research  ，不要道聽途說。

Hahaha, the moral of the story is ... a pat on the shoulder matters more than anything else. Of course, the hand that patted on the shoulder may not be the one you described

谢谢分享小插曲! 表哥的儿子也是念伊頓的, 后进了oxford, 女儿也是Oxford 生, 表哥夫妇两是开餐馆的, 没有任何背景, 不算富余, 只是很用心教导子女的父母, 孩子上课很专心. 没甚么补习. 偶尔外间的传闻是把事情复习和夸大了.  中产家庭有梦想,孩子有胆量去考伊頓, 很了不起啊!  如可以付得起基本学费, 是一试无妨吧!

如果很狹隘的理解手搭校長的肩膀，那也許是你想像的寓意。另一個角度可以理解說，伊頓也不是我們想像的那麼高不可攀，他們對學生的評估，是很全面的，看到這個孩子自信的一面。

Hehe, I was only joking so don't take my comments seriously.

Anyway, if patting the interviewer's shoulder (literally) worked for your relative's child, you can ask your's to try it too, just remind him to pat the interviewer and who knows, the result might be a pleasant surprise {:1_1:}

On a more serious note, as with any school, there are more than one way to be admitted, one of which is of course academic performance. No one is saying you can't get in the door without background, just like no one is saying background doesn't count.

What happened to others are largely irrelevant, so I would treat stories from relatives and especially internet as what they are, just stories, to avoid falling into the trap of thinking "hey even this kid could get in so why can't mine?".

Just go for it, do your best and see what happens.

~耀中可能不太好, 個人意見...

cat 1係要識英文, 佢小朋友話明英文都吾掂, sis都吾收, 點會入到esf!

數日來能夠得到這麼多家長的幫助和支持，真的非常感激大家！我們也在連日來多方瞭解，查閱大量的資訊后，並且得到這麼多家長的幫助，對我們目前的狀況做出客觀的評估，所以對孩子現階段的安排更明晰了！相信我們給孩子正確的愛，會給他無窮的力量！非常感謝大家的關心！
