My daughter is a 0910 bb (18-mth now) but still don't know how to say her name...what should I do to get ready for the kindgarter interview? Please advice, many thanks.
tried to start from last Oct, however, as my daughter is a small bb, I understand most of them won't arrange interview so just wait until recently got an offer from Kln Tong Funful
I'm a working mama and need to work quite late so most of the time she is with my Philippino maid. But of couse when my mother/mother-in-law is looking after her, they talked in Cantonese

Actually it is quite normal for kids who expose to bi-lingual environment, to be slightly slower on their language development at this age. No need to worry too much as it is normal. There are certainly advantages to be bi-lingual and such issues will diminish as they grow older. But to cope with kindergarten interviews which are just 6-7 months later, I usually would advise parents to focus slightly heavier on a particular language which you foresee are used in your target kindergartens.
many thanks for your advice Ian. I have read some other topics and understand that sometimes we need to choose either using English or Cantonese when having K1 interviewees, I think I need to make up my mind soon...
