中學BANDING，通常是靠明查暗訪得知的。

明查者：
(1)有些學校在其網頁或招生章程中會提及收生的 banding 比例。
(2)直接問該中學。
(3)報章報導。
(4)坊間一些要用錢買的書籍。
暗訪者：
(1)上來BK收料。
(2)向該中學的學生和家長收料。
(3)向貴子女的小學老師收料。
