I think most of the parents will prefer TSL as first choice and LMC as the second one. For the age of the schools, TSL has been here for 8 years(?), LMC is only 4 years. Besides, the P6 to band 1 S1 results in 2010 in TSL were profounding. But, LMC is too young and don't have any P.6 graduate..

Of course, the campus of TSL is better..

But, I prefer LMC...

I remember, last year, when I submitted the application form to school, my first impression was the school was small (didn't feel good inside my mind). After I dropped the form, I met a native English teacher and we talked for a while.

But, he gave me a very good impression of the school. He was very nice and helpful, his English, of course, was good with very nice accent. Then, before I left, I saw some students playing in the cover playground. So, I stopped and listened to their conversations. I was deeply impressed. They were talking in English fluently, without any HK accent...There was a male teacher (Chinese) in the playground. I also heard he was patiently talking to some other students in English. He has a UK/Australian accent.

Wa. Wa..I immediately add points to this school. When the interview day came, we were arranged to be interviewed by Principal Man. The interview was short, but very useful. Principal Man is a gorgeous lady full of passions on education. Her vision and mission on this school moved me and make me believed it is the school I will let my son to be educated.

Above are the personal experiences and reasons why I prefer this school.

其實，報TSL的，好多都會報LMC吧!! (我估咋，無做statistics!)

其實好難而家咁樣作出比較, 都唔公道, 一間校歷比另一間多double以上,
LMC都仲係好新,都未有P6成績睇到,況且就算有得睇都應該係用第一年LMC P6派位,同TSL第一年 P6 派位 ...

我相信大家應該都有睇另一個topic "陳...over 3700人報..."，大多數都喜歡TSL的，除左有個別TSL家長有D唔好的經驗。個別的例子都不能改變大多數的想法罷。

LMC真係新好多，我指校齡，但係我都好喜歡。雖然TSL唔收我仔，但我唔覺得LMC係差好多，正如我之前我分享。

LMC有17個教師,請問有多小個外籍老師?

今年有24個老師，如果"外籍老師"定義係"Speaking native languages, English or Mandarin"，全部都係(文校長講)。

只有14人擁教育文憑資格,餘下沒有教育文憑的是教甚麼科目的呢?

外籍老師是那一國籍的?

from UK, Canada, Australia, India..(好似係..)

任教甚麼科目?

當然native English speakers 都會教英文，native Mandarin Speakers 都普通話。

課程甚樣?

All subjects in English(include teach and speak in English), except Chinese (Mandarin only).

功課多嗎?

唔算多!!

有超過一半的老師,共10人只有零至四年經驗.年資小,教學質量好嗎?

Today is only Sept 13. The deadline will be in Sept 30... So there will be more applications received..I guess it may go to 1200 - 1500, or more...

TSL 報名都已經有3700人，而報名已經過左 deadline. 如果有家長在餘下半個月，可能都想報埋LMC，都唔定。

重有，我認識有D朋友佢地報左St. Margret Co-edu都會在這一兩週內inteview，有部份可能1st in failed的會立刻報埋LMC。所以，這兩星期，可能有一批家長會臨尾報埋LMC。

如果真係的話，到Sept 30，隨時報名人數會重多好多!!

Oh. Maybe it is not official..According to last year, after the 1st interview, most of the applicants for 2nd interview, will normally receive calls from school within 2 weeks.(I followed the feedbacks from the parents in BK last year). If there is no call within 2 weeks, the chance will be small, but not zero..(Of course, I am not 100% sure!!!)

Honestly, SMC never said that...OK.. It was what we saw last year...Of course, there were some exceptions last year..


Maybe this year will be different.

According to my friends' preferences, they will consider the three or four "basic" DS English primary schools to apply are: TSL, SMC, LMC...and CKY.

I think this "choice" will be more or less the same for those who have applied TSL and SMC..

小朋友係一組in，不過老師會一個一個去問問題。(我發覺小朋友集會時，老師已經開始同小朋友傾計，可能已經in緊。 ).

無second in，一 in 決定。

家長要同時間in，不過同小朋友分開in，文校長話in家長係唔計分喎!! (你信唔信??) (我諗如果家長in得差，可能會對印象分打折扣!!)

The teacher will observe how the kid behave and response when he/she is in the group.

For example,

Can he/she understand the instructions the teacher give (in English and/or Mandarin)? e.g. queue up, follow the group to the designated classroom for interview. Don't run (I don't think anyone will do, most of them are bit scared!!!)

Can he/she feel comfortable if the parents are not around?(Independent??)

Can the children play together? I don't know!! But I never saw any kid running or playing during the assembly before interview.(I meant running around on the playgrounds, or playing toys/games when waiting!!!)
