Talent poaching has been an issue in the school sector for quite a while - esp in sports. It has developed into quite an unhealthy state where some students are simply recruited for getting the coveted championships (read: achievements) for the school - be it swimming, table-tennis, etc.
It's actually quite heartening to see that some of the students/old boys have begun to voice their discontent over the phenomenon. Not just YW, you can also find similar debate at the DBS forum on its website. |
