Do not focus ENGLISH only, it just a tool for learning.
The result is estimate only, not real result in public exam according to sample paper.
If will tell you real result if received.
I know some kids, can speed well language in 2 or 3 other than mother language, it is depended on playing group of kids. can speed and listen good language, it is not equal to writting good language. For example, one of his classmate, can spoke & listen japanese, but she can not write in japanese. It is because her best friend is japanese child and playing together in KG.

I think you mean "speak".

I do not understand what you mean by result from sample paper.  My daughter's results are genuine ones after taking the actual test, and we have received the corresponding certs.
For the point of do not focus only on English, I absolutely agree with you.  Kids in Primary need to be sort of all-round, being good in Languages (at least 2), Maths and at least some Art subjects.

Kid will take in coming exam not taken before.
The result is estimated not real in this time. But, I foresee or estimate the result due to past YLE result, sample paper practise and kid ability.
Practice with sample paper brefore genuine exam is common for estimation.
If no chance for good result, I think parent will not take exam.

I know some small kids ability unexpected, may be in language, arts, music, maths or other.

I ask parent for taking cert. without purpose just for record filing. And take either 1 or 2 exam.
I am not asked the age for exam

I will "嘩!!!" if P3/4 take FCE with good result.
KET or PET for P2/3 may be too early,
but some of schoolmate is completed.

If kid studing in ESF or international school, KET/PET is not difficult for grade 2/3.
I never say "school teach KET/PET level English in kindergarten/P1", it is abnormal and non sense.
Teaching method and standard is same as other school. no any level up.

Thanks for your response.  Please accept my apologies for a little overlooking of your earlier message, due to a rush in office.
Will keep you posted of my girl's result for FCE in the coming Dec.
Well. As a matter of fact, both of my kids are in main stream HK school.  My boy is going to P1 & my girl going to P4 in coming Sep.

It has been some time since we talked.  Is your son starting P2 coming Sep.?  Wish you all the best.

Has you/he made up the mind to take the PET in coming Nov (PET) or Dec (PET-School)?

Your son's school is very good, one of the best in the area.  Keep it up.

Yes, kid will P2 in this Sep.
His interest is changed to maths & Sci in holiday.
He is not requested Exam for KET/PET again.

His primary school is very small, not more than 500 for 6 levels. I hope his school will not be killed by EB.

It happens. Children's interests change over time.  Just keep him happy & enthusiastic of learning.  That is the most important.
Of course his school will not be "killed".  It is very reputable & good.  My girl interviewed for it years ago, but unfortunately they did not take her.

For S1 place, use PET or FCE is safty.
Flyer is lowest or NO Use, just for reference only.
KET is basic or min, when you prepare the cert for first round interview.

If I were you, kid will take PET in P.5 Nov or Dec not in P4. For the language cert. it is OK or above standard when you kid studying in non-english school.
Only good English is NO USE, please add 1 or 2 cert in music & sport.

My friend kid is boy and take ECA cert.
PET in P5, piano in grade 7, Kung Fu in First black belt.
His primary is normal DSS and no TSA result.
He accepted by TOP TOP DSS school & King's & LSC on "knock door" period.
Finally, He is studying in aboard after F.1.

Use KET sample paper for trial, if he can complete and correct within a hour.
I will go to KET exam.
But K3 kid have Flyer cert. It is crazy than me.
The writing speed of kid is OK?
He can write 300 word essay in 30min without any guideline?
Are u "cert collector" or requested by school for "Personal Record Filing"?
Or you want to find better school after P1 for kid?
Good English cert is normal for kid studying in non-chinese base school, please add other ECA more important.
I will stop all Eng cert exam for my kid in P2/3. English is basic skill for learning not a measurment for Gifted child.
I will take 2 or 3 ECA, and take public exam in other area for Record Filing.

It depends on when she took the KET.  I would suggest to give her half to one year after her KET test before taking the PET.
In my case, my daughter took the PET in Nov2009, so I am enrolling her for the FCE in coming Dec.

Glad to know that you have enrolled in FCE.  Don't worry.  I an sure your son's English is good enough to handle & do not need much extra practices.

晌大陸見有"剑桥初级英语考试教程（学生/教師用书）（Cambridge PET Practice Tests)", 唔知好唔好??  有冇CD 跟??

I use "剑桥初级英语考试教程"
My kid use all series for exam prepareation.
just RMB 23~29 per level.
If kid can not complete the sample paper within time limit, you can save the exam fee.
