其實去年的畢業禮更精彩。今年高班的舞編得比較亂。可能因為去年有傳福音主題，所以表達得比較有系統，而今年則重點是熱鬧吧！而去年好精彩的三隻小豬的故事就比今年的"揾工人啦"更好看了。希望明年會更好看啦！那會是我最後一次看的機會了。

John's Ed 在麗港城有分校，環境OK，但太新，未知辦得好唔好。最好是妳試咗話我知啦！      佢哋暑假有暑期班的。好似仲可以同佢講下Discount.

我兩個女就係麗港城中城到上緊英話會話。都是外籍導師教，三個人一班。

St. Rose KG 是 K1開始收生，開4班。而K2就會招收1班插班生。每年約11月初派表。面試都是一般的觀測一下小朋友，問一些簡單問題，睇下小朋友識唔識答。早兩年開始有份問卷是要家長做的。(唔知有冇改變。)

Anyone know we had to pay 校車 free for July? Only half month!!

舊校車只收十個月車費，七月份免費接送。相信新校車公司應該是一樣的。

Hi Amy,
I called the school and confirmed we only need to pay for the school fee until June. However, the last school day of 2005 is 04Jul and 11Jul (對嗎?) by this year. For the schoolbus, I have no idea because  some of our girls catch old schoolbus currently and some catch the new one... Anyway, I cant see any reason that we have save those $$ as it has been spent to the summer courses!
By the way, I was being told by a new SRL mom that, there are 6(or 8) classes for this year which is different from the pass!

Hi, Hayamama,

No matter when is the last day for the school year in Jul, the school and the school bus companies promised that the fee we need to pay is for 10 months only and the pick up for July is fee.  Remember that they have the long holidays for X'mas, Chinese N.Y. and Easter.  I think this is fair enough.  The EMB has requested the number of school days in a year.  So, if there were more day off during the last few months, the school will end in a later date in July.  

There are some KGs, which end the school year in mid of July and begin in mid of Aug, these schools will ask for 12 months payment both for the school and the school bus.  We are more lucky.     

I really don't know if my girls are doing better after the English course.  It is because my eldest girl also learnt a lot of English during the last school year.  I don't know if her improvement is due to the school or the English course.  For my yougest one, she just joined the conversation course since March, so it is really too early to say.  But I think she is more willing to speak in English since the course.  The one in charge of the center told me that she can start the phonics course in K3, so I don't send her to the course yet.  I am thinking if I need to send her as I have the materials from my eldest one.  I may be able to teach her by myself, or ask my eldest one to act as the teacher.   I am not sure if the course is interesting or lot, but during the course, the teacher will tell them a story, do some comprehensive questions, some writing and lastly will be a game.  I think both of them enjoy the course as I just ask my eldest one if she wants to stop the course and she said no.  And my youngest one is quite looking forward to the class as well.

I do hope that they will have BIG improvement as I spent a lot on them.  The phonics course is $125 per lesson and the conversation is $180/hour.  Both courses are one hour per week.  My eldest one go there for 2 hours on every Thursday.  She will take the phonics first then the conversation class.  The phonics course will take 2 years to complete and she just finished 9 months, still a long way to go. :cry:  :cry:

6 or 8 classes for the KG or primary school?  

Just visited the KG's website, the number for K1 for year 2007-08 is 150 students.  That will be classes for K1.  But there is no K2 on the notice.  Does that mean there will be no more 插班生 for K2?

I really don't think the school has the resources to increase the number of seats for student.  And due to the low birth rate, able to keep the existing number is already very good la.

From 中/小學概覽, primary school has 4 classes and secondary school has 5 classes.  Recently, the EMB asking the secondary schools to have only around 4 - 5 classes, so there is not possible for SRL secondary section to increase the classes.  The secondary school need to reserved about 75 - 80% of their seats for SRL primary.  Now, with 4 in the primary & 5 in the secondary school, the secondary section can take almost all the students from the primary school.  With this arrangement, I think only those will bad result will not get the chance for the secondary section.  This may be a good point for those who consider to select SRL primary.

今年的表演太簡單，而且時間很短，可能老師太忙了吧!我明年也是最後一年，希望明年更有水準。我2女整天發夢做司儀，時常在家中講對白，她說她對了老師及主任說她要做司儀，老師說諗下先，唔怕醜。

其實時間跟往年差不多，只是覺得在表達層面上欠了些，如果加多少少內容就可以更豐富。例如"揾工人啦"那一節如加插一、兩幕短劇效果就會更突出。去年的三隻小豬都有一群小白兔出來跳舞做過場啦！今年的彩排好似仲早過舊年，效果就一般啦！希望明年會更精彩。家長日見老師時，大家反映下啦！

Song, 妳就好啦！亞囡肯站出來要求做司儀。我兩個囡怕醜到死，就算老師推佢哋出來，睇怕到係縮返入後台個種。所以，大女的鋼琴老師話會幫佢報今年音樂節的一級鋼琴比賽，話要練下佢個膽呀！大女到時一定緊張到死了。

I haven't been there for a long long time as I am very busy at work and moving office.

Hayamama, I am so sad to hear the bad news of your brother and your husband.   I will pray for them and hope they are recovery soon.  Take care!

I am so happy to see my daughter's performance in the graduation last year.  I really want to see this year.  I have asked my daughter whether their teacher has chosen her to perform this year in April.   She told me that the teacher hasn't chosen yet.  After a few weeks, I asked her again.  She told me that teacher has chosen her but she is crying and she doesn't want to perform as she is afraid she will not perform well.  I was so unhappy but I encourged her.  On next day, I phoned to her headmistress and she told me that they have performed for few weeks and they have already found another student to replace.  I am so angry that why the teacher didn't call me and discuss with me.  I think my daughter can be persuaded by me if I know it at once.  How is the graduation?  Is it nice?  

Finally, my daughter has few days' holidays so we took her to Japan.  We went to Puroland, Disneyland and DisneySea.  She is very very happy but I am so tired.

You are so great!  You always provide us many information and useful details.  Thank you so much.  I just read the message and enrol it.  I cannot go there to pick up the VCD at Kowloon Bay during office hours.  Are you convenience to pick up for me?

I think most of the K2 parents are planning to apply the primary school in the coming year.  Any suggestion and ideas to share here?

My eldest girl also refused to perform when she was in K1 & K2,  same reason as yours.  I don't think you need to feel upset or angry about it, because it is the kid herself who need to perform, if she thinks she is not ready for it, then, let her.  We need to respect our kids' decision.  For sure she will need to perform in K3, so, you may consider to start telling her about this and let her mind prepare for it.  Just tell her it will be fun to be on stage and mum will love to see her perform, no matter good or not, you will still feel pride for her.

Regarding the video tape, I am sorry that I have no schedule to go to Kowloon Bay.  May be you can check if any of the Mums in the chat room may go there to collect their copies.
