Re: 申請入讀07/08年度培正K1家長傾下o丫!
Dear TongSzeLai & Kyy,
I can't speak for all... but there're actually mix feelings of PC!
Well, you all know about the good side, but there's actually one more, and perhaps it's the most important one--- we 've got strong Alumni! and if you check around, our powerful Alumni are all over the world. PC people are warm and 念舊
Honestly speaking, applying PC is more of a " back-up" plan for my girl!
here's why,
1. PC's English is really not enough... I had to work really hard to get myself up to standard when I studied abroad. (given when I was in PC, form 5, my english was among the top 20 in 300 something students.
2. it's a very traditional school... they don't take parents advise into too much consideration. Policies are hard to change because it 's got too many history burdens. Just look at the way they took our application....I really don't think it was smart, it was redundant and complicated!
3. Teachers there were old ( i don't know about now) and 古板. I remember they weren't exactly friendly nor smile a lot!
4. Because they're a traditional school, they don't like students to be outstanding. They don't really promote individualism...they culture humble kids which I think it was okay back then, but nowadays.... everything is about advertising your strength and 加以培育 your own 強項. This way, I think PC students may be less competitive. For example, when I was in school... to be a good student, you must quitely take notes, don't ask too many questions, don't question your teachers! Interaction/ discussion were minimal.
Anyway, things may change now and perhaps it was the general education model back then.... just some of my experience to share with you all.
I just think it's most important to have my kids ENJOY going to school and learn to become a THINKER not a FOLLOWER.
