30分鐘
新界: 500-600
港島及九龍: 600-700

45 分鐘
新界: 700-800
港島及九龍: 800-900

當然有個別老師及琴行會收取以上的價目六成或七成等。

Hi Ming2,

My 6-year old daughter has been learning piano for 2 years. She has played half of the Burgmuller Op. 100 (easy and progressive studies), and a number of Sonatinas (e.g. Sonatina Op. 88 No. 3 of Kuhlar).  Please let me know if her progress is OK.  If I want her to take exam, which grade should I propose to the teacher?

Some more questions please.  I heard some children apply for piano course in the APA, is that good and is it difficult to get admitted ?

Can my daughter apply at her level now or later ? What songs should she play at the audition (e.g. the Music Festival songs or ABRSM examination songs - which grade) ?

Your 6-yr old girl's progress sounds good wor! If she's playing Sonatina Op. 88 No. 3 of Kuhlau, why not enrol her to the coming HK School Music Festival for piano sonatina #145 to test her ability/performance?

It's the first time for my elder boy to be enrolled for Sonatina group. "It's very competitive"? I think there will be many overqualified candidates for this group. Your girl may be among the youngest. Anyway, it's only a valuable experience/exposure for my boy, I suppose!

My elder boy has chosen Op.55 No.3 which is a grade 5 exam piece for 2005/06 ABRSM. He will also play No.126.

Pre-competition performance experience? Not so much la. But his piano teacher will usually hold a mini-concert at home for the candidates before the competition as a rehersal.

Wow ! Your boy is playing the Grade 7 competition and he is certainly one of the "overqualified" candidate playing the Sonatina competition.  In fact he is qualified to play the Sonata event too !!  

My girl is only playing the Grade 3 piano solo.  I thought the Sonatina is only about that level.  But I am sure she can learn a lot from the more advance candidates in the competition.

Lets share the results after the competition.
