I think that 「 入 英 中 試 」is a fairer way for EMI schools to accept students, rather using the 85% standard achievement in Chi, Eng & Maths to judge if a school can continue to be EMI.  In this way, students join EMI based on their own English capabilities, and after joining the English secondary school, they won't worry that the school will change to Chinese school during their 6 years secondary school life.  With this, EMI schools also will not become so much the "elite" schools.

「 入 英 中 試 」is only test on English, not on all subjects, so is not equal to 升中試.

If such an Exam. is to be introduced, I don't think they will confine it to English only. It is simply not acceptable politically.

The test is proposed as follows to assess the students' ability to learn all subjects in English, so this sounds to be reasonable.  Anyway, there will certainly be a lot of further discussions.
