Totally agree with u all. I just wonder  how Maths teacher teach this topic. My boy cannot show me the step he learn at school. Little bit worry that teacher just tell him the answer.
My husband say that only by calculation that can come up with the exact answer i.e. not rely on counting the minute one by one.

Dear all,

Don't worry too much.  Try to teach your childern via "games" to show them concept of "time".   If possible, try to find / hand-make a big toy-clock to show them how many minutes for an hour; how many minutes for half-hour...etc.

Thanks WD40 and 一家三口,

I have just got a clock prepared - a real one.  Will start tonight, after revising Chinese.

Chinese is still seen by me as a difficult subject - he is relunctant (in fact lazy) to write Chinese words, he may not be able to remember the words for sentence making.  If there are words for him to copy, it is still ok.  If not, ah...

Anyway, try our best and be optimistic (very ah Q).

我記得我仔仔讀 K2 時，學校已經用 一 d 有趣方法，把中文字部首、筆劃…etc  拆開黎教小朋友點樣記部首同埋寫法！   幾有效…當時約用左一個學期時間，我仔仔對中文字有番興趣 (初初完全抗拒，因太多筆劃要記)…到現在，佢學中文都好 OK，係手字寫得醜怪d姐…哈哈

你嘗試去大型書店，當中必有如何教小孩寫中文字 ge 書。  都係果句，盡量用d有趣  or via games 黎教小朋友，咁樣佢地容易入腦同埋學得快d架。

I tried with the real clock but the problem remained.  It became even worse as he looked more interested in the clock rather than the calculation.

Hope he can have some progress in coming few days.

Besides, there is Eng dictation on Nov 6 (a paper attached to the homework diary).  It is the revision only, no new words, have easy words like dogs and fish.

You mean making sentences out of the words on the revision paper? How many sentences did your kid make in the exam last year?

How about English listening, reading & writing and speaking? I really have no idea. Could you please share with us what did your kid do in the Eng exam last year?

This year Chinese subject includes listening, writing, reading & speaking. Did your kid do any composition in the exam last year? Any strategies to do the revision?

Yea....pls share your experience w/ us....ha...I have no idea how to teach my son to deal w/ exam.   Honestly, it's first time for him to experience "exam" ...  唉，真失禮

以下內容只係我囡囡去年小二考試時的小小資料.亦只希望給大家作參考.

答 :  Revision paper 內的字, 係於看圖作句時用的.

How about English listening, reading & writing and speaking?

因為listening 冇卷派回來, 所以不大清楚.
Reading & Writing 有(A)閱讀理解, 只係要求unerline 答案, (B) Underline the adjective and circle the adverb in the following sentences. (C) 供詞填充 和看圖作句. 作4句. 全卷完
Speaking 有看圖講故事, 和讀phonic 書內的字/歌仔.

This year Chinese subject includes listening, writing, reading & speaking. Did your kid do any composition in the exam last year? Any strategies to do the revision?

-Listening係MC 題. 要聽2段錄音. 然後寫出答案(A-D).
-試卷一 (閱讀).....(一) 標點運用, (二) 詞義辨析, 圈出答案. (三)動詞運用, 係供詞填充 (四) 詞語填充, 係供詞填充, (五) 重組句子, 只係在括號內填上正確的次序. (六) 量詞填充, 都係供詞. (七) 閱讀理解. 全卷完.

-試卷二 (寫作)......(一) 供詞造句. eg : ....只要...就. (二) 改寫句子 (三) 擴張句子 (四) 看圖作句. 有詞語提供. 全卷完.

- 中文科speaking ....看圖講故事/朗讀課文/朗讀詞語都有....

個人意見...中文科可以留意平時做的學校工作紙.

Wa...million thanks for your sharing.  It does help me a lot for preparation  


不過我都明白好多時都睇小朋友考試時狀態。  所以我盡量不給予仔仔太大壓力。  溫習時都以遊戲方式邊玩邊問問題…etc

冇法啦，而家做父母就係咁架喇

下週就係考試週…大家努力啦

有好有唔好啦。好ge咪就係讀得好開心兼冇壓力；唔好咪就係比人遲適應 "考試" 呢個制度囉。   所以仔仔係 dictations & quizes 時，成日大意兼唔小心，再加埋寫 d 字醜怪，成日就係咁扣分囉…唉
