btw, as I read the notice from the school, seems like at least 1 or 2 new cases of H1N1 at school, quite worried for our kids' health
My son told me some classmates like Lawrence, Ethan etc. were sick. Not only kids, adults don't like wearing masks but it's one of the effective ways to prevent the spread of virus.
They'd reviewed the A-Z alphabet cards today...from M to ? (I forgot). My son said Ms. Lee asked them to read the card at home everyday.
They'd written 大﹣小 on p.24 of the Star Book. My son told me they're opposite words. Also, Ms. Suen had reviewed the Chinese word cards learnt in K1 with them yesterday & today.
Also, my son asked me to do the "fingerprint" homework on the Chinese story book with him tonite.
My son was very happy that Ms. Suen treated them some crispy snacks today (and some days last week).
The teachers said they can take mooncake to school for snack tmw...but only half of it!
Did your kids mention about the "dictation"? Some moms from other classes saying that they'll have dictations this week but my son didn't know what is "dictation" when I asked him.
Had asked Ms. Suen yesterday...they encouraged the kids to bring the story books (related to p.17) to school should they have any at home...yet, seems that happened last week already and therefore t ...
i see. When i ask my son if the teacher read the book, he said yes but just go through the book very quickly. So, actually kid should ask us to bring last week.

finger print --> my son also ask me to do this
mooncake ---> i see, so i can let him bring tomorrow
my daughter said one classmate threw up in class yesterday (not feeling well). So the school called the parents and brought the child home. Hope he/she is feeling better now.
btw, happy Mid-Autumn Festival to all of you and your child. Any particular place that you will take your child to play lantern on coming Saturday night?
Ms. Suen was not in the classroom today. So Ms. Lee taught the kids writing Chinese words instead. They didn't write 上﹠下on the Star Book and my son said they'll write on the Star Book when Ms. Suen is back. I wondered if there's any substituting teacher but my son said no. Yet. he told me that the headmistress had gone to their classroom.
My son told me that many classmates were absent today. The 2 kids sitting next to my son, Lawrence & Max were also absent... ElaineCHOI, is that true? How's Max now? Calix told me that Max was feeling unwell on Monday and had gone to the school office.
My son started asking me why there's so much homework. He also told me that his fingers were "tired" after writing so many words. Luckily, I felt relieved when he told me that he likes doing homework.

starting from Day 1 of this academic year, I immediately sense the school is very focused on getting the kids to concentrate on schoolwork. Many of my friends are currently busy interviewing for P1 (their kids are in K3 right now).
