我個仔都帶漏o左o野返o黎! 不過聽佢講果日臨放學前的確好趕, 所以妳都唔好怪佢, 惟有搵人copy返!
假期o既功課真係比想像中多(但相對傳統小學其實已經唔算多)! 如果將會外遊的話, 真係要好好安排時間! 尤其science project, 相信要花唔少時間去做!

Dear FAFAMAMA,

Sorry I just have chance to read your e-mail. By the way knowing another mummy send you copy, did you receive it? If not, what I can do is to send you by e-mail tomorrow, cause I was in the office now.
There are really no FUN for my kids and me at all in this Christmas. Homeworks, revision, book reading/book report, science project (search from Libary, Computer, book store etc). So when I no need to work on 25/26, the work I have to do is to stay home and work with them on the projects.

ADD OIL everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

今日收到exam time table, 請問:
"Listening & Speaking"係咪即係English Oral?
PTH & Science唔o使考?
"English Spelling"溫邊d?

First of all, no need to worry for the exam (it is only an assement).
From my pass experience, I found out that the assement paper were so easy. Therefore I think the marks in the report card are the marks from the daily work (May be a big % of the daily work and only a very less % from the assement paper).

Listening and speaking is English Oral. (May be read out by the teacher or by the recorder).
They are still young, therefore no PTH until P2. So far my son in P3 have no science assement at all-I think they calculate the mark from the daily work as well.
Sorry I forgot about the english spelling, hope other parent can help.

Last week my girl took back a Chinese test paper home with mark. I think that the marks school count for assement.

Teacher wrote on the handbook and said: She is very capable on assement, she did a good job.

Therefore what I assum is they already start to have assement before this week.

Thanks for your sharing. For us, the assement is an good opportunity to make a revision. It lets me know the learning progress of my son. I love the teaching method and the way of assement in this school.

Hi good morning.
Yesterday it was suppose Englih assement , but my P1girl told me beside English assement, they also have Math assement. (+ and -)

And for my P3 kid, he told me the teacher remind them not to ask tutor to do tution for them.

聽我仔講, 呢兩日都有做數, 但只係堂上做, 應該都係revision!
雖然今次assessment唔太多o野溫(i mean相對傳統小學), 但好想快d過埋呢個禮拜, 咁就可以真正鬆一口氣!

In the first 2 days, my son told me that the assessment was very easy.  However he told me the English Spelling and Maths on the Wednesday and Thursday were difficult.    They were asked to spell different shapes as well as from Jan to Dec etc, the words which they have seen and learnt but never try to spell.    For Maths, he said he didn't understand the questions very well.  Honestly I did not do much revision with him.   Don't know if this is the reason for the outcome or he is really not up to standard.  

Anyway this assessment gives me a good opportunity to understand what the school wants from the children  and what I need to help my son to catch up.

其實這些年、月、日的英文生字日日對住，平時老師亦會要求孩子在堂上串出來的，應該不再是生字的，若是孩子仍然不會，就真的要加把勁了。

雖然孩子在蔡繼有讀書看似很輕鬆，其實亦不盡言，平日的學習，及持之以恆的閱讀習慣必不可少，否則很快會落後於他人。做父母，真的要好好跟進孩子的進度的，否則到小三，寫作的功課會明顯的多，數學亦會明顯艱深，若是底子打得不好，孩子要追會感很吃力呢！

我相信其實這些年、月、日的英文生字在日常課堂時應該有講, 但現在只限於September - January, 而February - August 仍未到, 應該會有問題.  其實幼稚園時己寫過,但都忘記了.

至於圖形生寫, 當然CKY的小朋友一定識解, 但maths 老師應該無同佢地在堂上串過, 亦無叫家長同佢地串, 所以考試時唔識.  

照你所講, 我們是否應該好似全統小學咁, 要小朋友將所有字都串晒佢呢? 老實講,教串字對我是極困難, 請問有無好方法, 請赐教?

Hi Sabrshum,

令郎對phonics熟識嗎？若拼音能力強，再加上每天有閱讀的習慣，串字也應該不成問題的。若言要像傳統學校一樣【啃生蛇】，孩子會很苦悶呢！若孩子多閱讀、多書寫，加上有拼音的底子，我覺得串字也不會太差的。

講開又講，學校都有串字練習，那些甚麼rainbow writing, finger tracing...，其實我覺得真的很沉悶呢！那些生字實在太淺易了，有點浪費時間呢！
