My son will attend AM class, Dorset campus next school year. It's nice to read the posts from you all.
Although my older daughter is studying in KV K2 now, I didn't realise what'd happened to K1 students until recently.... I was told by my friend who has a son studying in K1 now. He is a big B so he is able to tell more about his school life to his parents. Her mom said that ever since school started in Sep this year, her son became very quiet. He used to be a talkative and sociable child. However, he could not even name his classmates. He also told his parents that he wasn't allow to speak in class. So, when his parents attended the parent day meeting in mid of November. They asked his homeroom teacher about this. The teacher frankly told them that it's part of the school cirruculum to train the students discipline and not to talk to each other in class. They cannot speak to their classmates. After 4 months training, that is after Christmas holidays, students may then talk to classmates. When my friend told me this, I was quite shock and surprised. I then understand why my daughter was unable to tell me the names of her classmates during the first semester of the school term back in K1. She always told me that what's taught in class was 'secret'. Probably it's the teacher told the pupils not to tell things in class to their parents.
Although I feel that KV is quite harsh to these very young children, I believe their teaching method provides excellent training for our children to pave the way to primary education.
That's my humble point of view.
Cheers.
