seriously, the dictation of last week was pretty easy. this week's chinese dictations are more challenging: altogether 21 words!

1) did your parent-teacher session finish? my time-slot is thursday afternoon. Very anxious.
2) adrian got his show-and-tell paper today. his presentation is around end oct to end nov. the topic is animal.
4) fyi, mental test (2 times a week) will begin in week 6, i.e. next week.
5) i saw the textbook yesterday. our teacher said the old textbook has finished a week ago. but in some classes, the book is still in use?!
6) did your kid ask you to bring yellow leaves to school? i heard some classes did...
7) did you notice that your kid has finished some english hw at school, like L ,T, V? i heard adrian that they are have a contest. the fastest one who finish the full page could get a candy.
8) did your teacher ask your kid to revise on a piece of paper? in some classes, revision is compulsory. but in our class, it's voluntary.
9) as you might know, i pick up adrian everyday. while i am waiting, i could hear other mommies talking. one day they talked about the certificates and portfolios they prepare for the P.1 application! they are very advance and i'm still lagging behind...sigh...

But every time when I did revision with him on our own book, he said he gotta brought it back for his class teacher to check and got some chops for encouragement.

I personally believe the dominant factor is the performance of the interview. portfolio is kinda a minor factor.

I havn't heard from Anson, but this will be good to train them fast. Oh, that maybe the reason I found Anson did her homework much faster this week.

Started from last Friday when i pick up Wingtung from school bus. She said need to bring some leaves to school this Monday. and will see who will be the winner to bring more. She took 2 leaves at the end on Monday. However, she just like a  垃圾婆last night, pick more and more....haha

of course, i still yet to think about "P1 portfolio"...is it too early to prepare as seem nothing can be included in the file.....

i am planning to take one day leave on 23Oct, so will check with teacher whether can arrange the parent's day to that day, but yet to check...

so, anyone are free and have tea on 23Oct09?

C: Yes, Preston and I collected some leaves when walking downstairs; he said they are for the backdrops in his classroom.

C: Yes, sometimes Preston finished some HW at school. Sometimes Chinese, sometimes English, really depends on his mood.
I found stickers in his school bag, he said they are rewards from teacher because he finished class work writing first.

C: I believed it was not compulsory for our class.

thanks for your replies. last yr, when we were in K1A, we just got info from miss so. very straight-forward. Now, we are all from different classes. when i compare adrian's syllabus with  zi kiu's mom, we found we had so many things uncommon. we found them very frustrating.

Yes. Mental test = math test. during the test, the teacher will say ' 5' and the kids will need to write 5 (in english or numbers or dominos). if the teacher say 'what follows 7?' the kids must write '8'.

Yes, adrian also told me that he had computer lesson yesterday. he said he knew how to use the mouse to move leaves and remove leaves by 'eraser'. he said some kids need to share a desktop while he could use one on his own. he said the computer teacher is miss Chan.

i'm free on Oct 23. what would you like to do after dropping them off? we might go for tea or we might go to 教協 to buy stationeries. we could only choose one coz we have to pick them up at 4pm.

Miss Wong just called me that confirmed that I can change my parent day timeslot to 1:00-1:15pm on 23 Oct. Then, it will not crash with our normal schedule on Sat.

Have you also changed it yet?

Hi Weewee,

It is okay to come later.  For those who can come on time can simply spend some time at the veg. field or fruit picking or simply play around at the green or ride on the train.  
We can start the BBQ at 1-1.30pm...BTW..it is not the normal BBQ using 叉, instead it is more like japanese 串燒.

i found out that kids are having 'recess' starting from this week. as you might know, dorset campus has 2 blocks: one is nearer to the entrance and one is nearer to the office. the teacher said students from block A will have recess on every monday and thursday; while students from block B will have recess on every tuesday and friday . (When the kids have no PE, they'll have recess.) That means adrian will never meet Preston or Hing Lok or chun him during recess because they're located in different blocks!!! how sad! but i'll ask adrian to spot for chris, pakyin, anson and gladys!
