OH 我之前有同佢串electronic, sports and outdoor 果幾個生字.  我估其他應該係有得揀, 就無串.  佢最驚串生字. 次次都搞到

WB 大 heading "Write", 咪有d fill in the blank, 阿仔問過老師都要串埋, 所以我都要佢讀埋呀

I'd suggest your kids spell all the GS vocabs even
the words are supplied for the 'fill in the blanks'
questions.  When they build up their vocabs, it'll
be easier for them to handle GS/Science in the
upper primary.  Besides, if it's not for GS, it's for
their English.  Personally speaking, I think KTS
concentrates on grammar more than vocab, so
our kids need to build up their vocab through GS.

Thanks for your precious advices. :loveliness:

Actually I have done so for my son. I ask him to memorize all words (spelling and meaning) in the GS & English textbooks (even the chapters were not taught at all) time to time.

It will help him to build a good vocab base and understand English materials more easily. Since it is not required by KTS, he doesn't feel any pressure but love to do so.

As I saw other forums like APS and SFA, their schools require recite dictation weekly and KTS does not. SFA has taught past tense in P1 and KTS has not taught the said formally till now (P2 1st semester almost finished).

I am afraid they could not be as competitive as other kids are. We have to teach them and equip them more. So that they won't have a very harsh time when they go to P5 & P6. :D

Well done, Xiao Tao e.

Yes, I've got the same feeling too.  Even KTS's
English is teaching a yr forward, I still think it's
a bit easy.  Compare it with Chinese.  For
composition, Chinese requires to write 180 words
but English is still around 50 words or less.  Far
too simple.  How can we reflect it to the school?
As for Computing, it's a waste of money to spend
on textbook.  Spend a whole semester to teach
WORD!
