Genki,
Sometimes, I do need to scream before adrian coming to the desk. He prefers me sitting next to him while i prefer he finishes alone. But he's able to finish them quickly coz we got tight schedule every nite: HW - dinner - practising piano - bath - sleep before 10pm.
But i admit that they're not as happy as they were in K1. Now, they're trained to write, write and write. Therefore i let adrian indulge into his beloved toy cars during the weekend (both Sat and Sun) since he couldn't even touch them during weekdays ( he'll be 心都散晒 if he allows to play during weekdays!!!)

how many of us are going to the seminar at AC hall tm evening? should we meet before hand? or should we 霸位??? btw, i won't BK tm. pls call my cell if necessary. THANKS!!!

Thanks for all your support!  I know that it is a commom problem to most of the students.  I asked my maid how's the mood of Chris when he did he homework, she said he looked ok and didn't cry.  I guess they are being taught seriously at school in particular when they do writing.  Chris told me his classmates also needed the assistance from Miss Chan to write the Chinese words and it took long time to complete...I think that there is a significant change from K1 to K2 and brings them a little stress to do the writing / homework.

Yesterday, I saw a small pink book. There are some Chinese passages sticked inside. When I looked at the passages, OMG, I guess the honeymoon period's already gone and the school life would be getting tougher in coming months.

I'm not sure if Chun Him can handle it or not. Good luck to him and us.

Anson also complains to me for many homeworks once she get off the school bus. Hereafter our conversation:

Anson: 媽咪, 今日有好多功課呀, 兩樣太多啦!
Me: 咁好呀, 媽咪好鍾意做功課架, 你就好啦, 有咁多功課做, 叫MISS CHAN比D 媽咪做啦!
Anson:唔得架, D功課係比小朋友做架, 大人唔可以做架!
Me: 咦....你就好啦, 有功課做....

Usually Preston finishes his homework before dinner, so when i arrive home..i will check his homework.  If he did good with his homework, i will let him play Wii sports games or i will  play some toys ...

Maid usually giving pressure to kids when doing homework. They don't know how to create a relax environment for them, but just acting like a primary school teacher. Anson don't like my maid accompany her doing the homework and even want to cry for the many homeworks she need to do. But if I sit with her for doing the homework, she will be very happy and aggressive to finish them all becoz I will praise on her good work and make jokes on the ugly writing.

Preston does not received any small pink book wor.
he only has 3 types of homework.  Chinese writing "田" & "大", Letter "D" and math worksheet.

Anson is such a good girl to tell u these.      Preston is 古惑仔 ...i always have to pretend "唔緊張 " because i want him to learn his own 責任感....nowadays most of the younger generations lack of.  BTW..i am not that smart to think of this method la...係 parenting workshop到教+ . .

I like the conversation you have had with Anson - it may works for Chris!

Right, maids usually force them to do homework as they think it is one of the tasks that was given by the employer.  If they fail to do so, they think they will get their employers angry or even get fired.  It's important to communicate with our maid and let them know how to "play" with children.  

Mothers are the great!  We have to put enormous mental effort on every single issue.

Your method is great and effective but I think it cannot apply to Chun Him. If I said I want to have homework to do, he might give his books to me...for sure

Sometimes I don't want to use 強權 but I cannot find any other better way.

Yes, my maid always urge Chun Him to complete the homework. Chun Him would feel it's annoying and troublesome and always complain to me that he doesn't want to do the homework...but I guess it's difficult to change maid's mind set.

i think 一本通書 cannot 睇到老. some kids buy 強權, but some must 受軟. depends on the kid's personality.
adrian said they will have computer lesson in October at computer room. how exciting! he said only 乖仔can go. but i doubt that.

i talked to my fd the other nite. she said her son  is having 2 activities per day, mon to sat. i.e. 12 actvities per week. I'm just giving Adrian 6-7 activities per week so far. i know we can't compare but i'm just scared i might have omitted certain activities which are crucial to age-4-kid.  how about you all?

Dear parents,

Just wanna say thank you for your coming to Chun Him's birthday party. He's really excited and happy seeing all his classmates and friends.

I'm really happy 'cos he committed that he will not to lose temper or cry and he will play happily with his friends. He really can do it yesterday.

Hope to see you all soon in our re-union party on 4/10.

Believed we lost track of u when we crossed the road at the corner of Dorset st.   the talk was so long and we were so hungry..we headed to Festival walk for some food straight.

No problem...overall.. CYK sounded very attractive to those parents that want their children learning happily and pressure free for both parents and kids.  And aim to study abroad in the future.  Great campus & many leaning tours starting from Yr 4 despite expensive tuition fee etc.

Dear all,

Yesterday was the first time we joined the gathering with Harris’s schoolmates. He was very excited and happy, ran around during the party. So exhausted! He slept almost two hours after the party.


Harris said to grandma yesterday night “I go to Chun Him’s Birthday this afternoon, The gift is from Chum Him. Chum Him is my schoolmates!”
He is really happy to play with his friends.

Hope to join the next gathering.

I was worried coz Adrian told me all the kids were chasing Kwun Hang yesterday (which i don't know what he meant). Glad that he had a great time.

I remember it was end of Oct.  If i remember, i'll ask the teacher tm. But i think you should consider what to prepare for the party favours (if you plan to buy one).

does your teacher request you to wrap the homework books? I asked Adrian's teacher and she suggested us wrap the Star book and the vocab book which will be used EVERYDAY THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE YEAR! the teacher even said our kids need to revise them in summer!

as Cherry said, the CKY's seminar is quite presentable. one of my friend's son is admitted this year and she had told me how good the school is before. that's why i wasn't very impressed at the seminar. i think the selling pt of the school is an inter' school governed by a chinese principal.

Yes, Chun Him requested me to wrap all the homework books and I did it for him every night when he has new unwrapped books in the school bag.
