[新手指南分享] DSE 英國 UCAS 升學

小女UCAS的5個CHOICE連面試也沒有就全軍覆沒，一心想 ：唉，死心吧 ！但見帶EXTRA CHOICE，就試試，點知個EXTRA CHOICE就IN都唔駛IN就比CONDITIONAL OFFER ！個EXTRA CHOICE係KCL的BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE。CONDITION 係DSE ALL CORE 4 及 ELECTIVE 5,5,5 ！

我有三個問題想救教版主大人 ：
1. KCL的BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE OK嗎 ？
2. 我要在20/07/0217前回覆是否REPLY(MAKE THIS MY FIRM CHOICE)，如果我接受了，幾時要比學費／留位費呢  ？（因為8/8才出JUPAS OFFER，如果JUPAS有好OFFER，都想留係香港呢 ！）
3. 如果我DSE考得好，可不可以DECLINE OFFER，再搏CLEARING ROUND 呢 ？

恭喜恭喜，終於有 Offer。
KCL Biomedical Science 都唔錯，大概排 15-25 呢個位置左右，屬於中上游，Offer 也算合理。

用左 Extra 的話，我唔太建議 Clearing 博其他英國大學。

Extra Offer 是否有寫 20/7 前要答覆？如果是的話，就一定要按照指示，在期限前回覆。學費應該唔會咁快要交，至於 KCL 是否有留位費就唔太清楚，不過英國好多大學都係冇留位費。如果擔心的話，寫封電郵畀大學，佢地一定畀到答案你。

DSE 考得好而且入到香港嘅大學的話，可以同大學講「經過深思熟慮同埋經濟考慮，好遺憾地要放棄學位，希望你以後收到嘅學生都出色」。果陣我有 3 個 offer 係身，我都係咁樣寫黎拒絕。

咁再請問，KCL同HKU BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE及 CUHK 的BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE比較，KCL好些定差些 ?
當然明白如果用DSE收生的分數比較，是HKU 同 CUHK好過 KCL，但係如果講世界排名/課程質素/科研出路，那一間好些呢 ?

樓主，想問DSE放榜後，如何將DSE的成績submit去大學？經UCAS？還是要自己各自send比firm 同insurance？是不是自己將學校派的成續單scan左，send去就得？

請問樓主心理學糸有那些大學排名分享？DSE/ AL入學條件為何？各院校有何差別，海外生的實習機會是否較本土生低？謝謝

在心理學首屈一指的大學有（除了 Cambridge、Oxford、Durham 外）Birmingham、Bath、UCL、Exeter、Edinburgh 和 Newcastle，這些大學要求都是 AAA／555。
次等的有 Southampton、Royal Holloway、Warwick、Leicester、Queen's Belfast、Essex、Reading，要求大約是 AAA－ABB（555-544）。

的確，心理學本地生的確比海外生更有優勢，但是只要努力讀書和爭取機會便可。例如我的屋友是內地人，她現在一間回收公司做實習。她真的讀書很勤力認真，也很懂得為自己打算。

anyone will go to aＸber edu fair on 12/7?

my son chose engineering in ucas, but he cahnged his mind and wanted to study actuarial/ accounting instead.

Therefore, i wouold like to know if it is possible to apply for a course via Axber edu fair instead of applying via ucas thanks

It is possible. Are you applying actuarial science and accounting for the same university? If so, you can ring them or send e-mails informing them about your decision. Change of courses are quite common in UK universities and usually they are quite flexible as long as your grades could met the standard offer requirement for the courses.

thanks for ur reply, but the uni that my son chose doesnt offer actuarial science, so I think going to a edu fair is our only choice......
btw, is it common that overseas student drive a car/ motarbike to school? I studyied in uk before, and i think it was really inconvenience without a car.

Then you're strongly encouraged to go to the education fair. A small reminder is search online and see which uni would be in the fair and look at their offer requirement for actuarial science.

Depends on which city you are in. For example, I live in Birmingham, it's only 20 mins walk to train station, 15 mins walk to the supermarket. Most uni are located near train station or bus station so it's convenient enough.
Cars or motorbikes are not that necessary unless you live pretty far from Uni (which is quite unlikely for international students) or you like travelling frequently.

Loughborough 係好大學，就係可惜在國際知名度，不過如果留英工作則不是大問題。

請問 lancaster 嘅A&F好嗎？

版主，想請教你小女DSE的成績為CHI-3, ENG-5*, MATH-5*, LS-4, PHY-5*, CHEM-5*, BIO-5, M1-5* ，可否嘗試聯絡之前REJECTED了的大學，希望他們重新考慮呢？我報了 IC MEDICAL BIOSCI，UCL BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE ，但都因為PREDICTED GRADE 差被REJECTED ！

好叻女啊！UCL 同 IC standard offer 都過到！
絕對要聯絡！打長途電話都要！你可以話 "Due to my school's underestimation of predicted grades, I was rejected." 然後話自己對呢間大學好有熱誠，如果唔係因為受 Predicted Grades 拖累的話，一定擺佢做 Firm。
