My elder daughter just had her first ever competition experience of any kind this Wednesday. G1 102 Dance of the toads. My wife and I both think she has exceeded our expectation comparing to her home performance. I think it is the most exciting when she can get on stage calmly by herself for the first time, played the song and it was even better than how she normally do.
Even better, was that I asked her if she finally understand why she needs to practice before competing and she finally told me she understand the reason now. I think it is a great learning experience.
We are lucky that the adjudicator is a bit loose, first place is 93 and third third was 91.5. As a K3 student playing for her first, my daughter was lucky to receive 87 points for merit. Actually we expected her to be around 7X so it is a very good present for her. And big encouragement for her to continue. |
