Re: 真道並非authorized IB school, 高中無可能考到認可IB証書??????IB authorization 好難有!最終兩頭o吾到岸??
Philipwhau 寫道:
Let’s take the present international schools which provide IB curricula as the examples, their tuition fees are summarized below:-
1. Li Po Chun United World of Hong Kong (IB Diploma) – annual tuition fee for 2004/05 is $171,000
2. Yew Chung International School (IB Diploma) – annual tuition fee for 2004/05 is $132,000
3. English Foundation Schools (for secondary schools) – annual tuition fee for 2004/05 is $78,600 with the substantial subsidy from Government.
4. Kingston International School (IB PYP Programme) – annual tuition fee for 2004/05 is $80,000
5. Victoria (IB PYP Programme) - annual tuition fee for 2004/05 is $52,000. As advised by the Principal, the majority party of the tuition fee is going to the teachers salaries. For the future new through-train school in Shum Wan Road, the annual tuition fee for secondary school will be around $75,000 to $80,000 at present value. The annual tuition fee would be much even highly if Victoria would provide IB Diploma Programme.
Therefore, my conclusion is that if 真道 is really providing IB Diploma, its annual tuition fee would be drastically jumping to a huge figure in order to employ sufficient no. of high quality native English/Putonghua speaking teachers. At that time, 真道 would become another "noble" school as its students will definitely come from upper middle class or rich families. Bearing in mind that being a noble school is contradictory with the current missions and values of真道 – its present students are mostly come from ordinary middle class families. The majority of parents may not be affordable to pay around $80,000 to $100,000 per annum.
Some真道 parents may argue that the background of the school is very strong and rich and therefore financial should not be the problem. I would like to say: Is it really the case? Please note that the school is only supported by
Do you think香港華人基督教聯會 is so rich that it could unconditionally subsidize the tuition fees for the students to purse the IB Diploma? Bearing in mind that 香港華人基督教聯會 is a Christian Church background, it needs to support many evangelical activities other than 真道. 真道is only the subset of 香港華人基督教聯會.
For Li Po Chun, Yew Chung and Victoria, they really have a rich financial background.
Provision of IB programme in particular for IB Diploma is not an easy game to play. That's why up to the present moment only the highly esteemed international schools can afford to offer IB courses.
Please think above about that.
Oops, that's why Mr. Yau, the principal of LOGOS, emphasied their students' families all come from Middle Class lah He said that some of them are Doctors, Chief Accountant, Lawer, etc.
They just selected those can afford "HIGH School Fee" families to enter their school is for preparing apply IBD in the future. So, those students won't quit LOGOS when the school fee rise UP.
I understand lah. Thanks philip.
So, the present parents of LOGOS should happy lah, they are rich woh. At least Mr. Yau thought that.
