十分多謝你的回應和意見, 我想GP應該不是Phonics, 因我見到時間表上有一科:英國語文(Phonics). 可能是Grammer架??? 自己都知下週正式開課後, 老師會通知小朋友每堂要帶甚麼課本或習作. 但點都要執掂星期一D書, 而且一想起個女明天開始要在校吃午餐, 個心就好緊張, 都唔知會攪成點 !! 因她在家已經食得好慢, 又倫盡.....唉....仲慘過我返小學...

課外活動方面, 由於老公唔想個女要留到差不多五點先有校車接返屋企, 多數要辛苦工人姐姐去學校接放學, 間學校又唔近地下鐵站, 屋企亦無巴士直達, 應該要轉車先去得到, 或者下星期抽時間同工人一齊去一次啦.....

Hi Hei Ching Ma,

My daughter and your daugther is quite similar.  She is a slow eater and does not enjoy eating much especially at home.  But what I heard when she was eating lunch at her kindergarten,  she was perfectly fine.  I guess sometimes it may be different at school where they have peer influence and teachers' supervision.  Don't worry, I guess we need to learn to let go!

I first want to sign up for the drawing and badminton classes but now I decided not to take any of those.
It may be too troublesome to bring so many things and to change the sports uniform on her own. My husband also says that she has too many ex-curr.  activities already.

My son is now a primary 2 student in APS.

You can put on the sports uniform in the morning if you will have badminton class after school.  So that you don't need to bring and change it at school.

Last year, there was no textbook for English.  Teacher gave worksheets to us, eg Grammar Practice, Guided Writing, Comprehension, Supplementary Exercises, Oral, Phonics etc.  There are two textbooks for listening.  There are 7 parts for English in the test and the examination making a total mark.

Hi nanabi,

I finally confirmed to pick "swimming" and "English drama" courses for my daughter. For the lunch issue, she told me that she is happy to have lunch with the classmates and can almost finish the whole box of spaghetti this afternoon.

Will you let your girl to join the "校際朗誦節" ? I will probably let my daughter to try and see if she can be selected by the class teacher.

好似冇參加朗誦節團體賽。

不過音樂節歌唱組，無論獨唱或合唱團，都是老師選的。音樂老師會在這兩星期之音樂堂上試音。而樂器獨奏是自由報名的。

Would someone tell me about which school uniform supplier has better quality?

I would like to buy one more set of girl's uniform and I wonder what difference among the different supplier.  Is it better to buy it at Sai Kwong but Kam Lun seems has longer history.

謝謝你的回應, 關於音樂節方面, 多數會讓小女今年繼續參加鋼琴獨奏項目, 不過要同鋼琴老師商量一下今年應該再參加Grade 1 增加勝出機會, 還是待報名時再算.....

nanabi, 關於校服問題, 金綸和世光的質素都差不多, 但問過公司有小朋友讀書的同事, 她們大部分亦認為世光稍勝一D, 當然屬個人意見, 只供參考.....

As the extra-curr. act have already started, I guess some of you had been to the musical training.  How is i??  

Now I am a bit concern if my daughter can handle clarinet because she is very small in size and also not very strong in breath Her nose and throat are quite sensitive, I  am afraid it is too difficult for her and she will be frustrated.

The teacher sent me a form to fill in for the Speech Festival.  I guess we need to fill that in and they will choose the candidates to participate in the competition.  Is it right??

Should we choose one verse from the attachment and fill in the no.?  Since the deadline is on Wednesday, please share with me of your experience.  Thanks a lot!

According to my understanding, the application for the speech festival is "open" to all APS students. However, they will shortlist some "potential" candidates to provide in-depth training only.

If you just want to provide an opportunity for your kid to participate in such kind of competition, you can complete the form and pick one item listed in the attachment. I am worrying if my daughter has not been chosen, I need to practise the poem with her by myself.  Anyway, I will pick the code 312: 詩詞獨誦 for my girl.

Thanks Hei Ching Ma's reply.  I also want my girl to get experience on understanding what speech festival is. Also worry if I need to train her by myelf.  It is better to do it this year as the poem is not too difficult for ME to handle.  

I properly will choose 312 for her too.  It seems easier!!

Does my son worth transfering to APS? Can any APS parents offer any comment for P.3 placement? Is the academic standard of APS really high and only emphasis on Music?

It's so great to know you in BK.  My daughter will be in P.1 in coming Sept.  I found your situation last year is same as me as my daughter is also assigned volin which I believe it's too common in this contempoary world.  My favouriate is Oboe.  I talk to school today (today is welcome day of 05 Primary 1 student) and they said the chance to change is very limited.  According to the teacher, the only muscial instructment that she can guarantee I can change is Basson.

I'd like to change but my daughter is currently learning volin and she love it.

Do you hear your kid's mummy said about learning "Oboe" or "Basson"? Appreciate your help.

Dotn't give up Basson.

My son says that nearly all school orchestras lack the Basson player. In every year's school music festival, the no. of competitors for basson in Hong Kong is just about 10 persons! But the price of basson is very high and I really surrender for Ms. Kwan to let a P.1 girl to learn such wonderful music instrument.

Basson is the least popular and the rare instrument in the school orchestra. By comparsion, oboe is more popular than basson.
