Hi Jackielee,

Tks for your useful info on the GO school.  Are you joining its 'parent-kid' classes?  I think I miss its latest term (already started last weekend).  Will see if can spare time for it next term.

Does your son also learn musical instrument?  My son learnt piano for about 1 year but he's very lazy to practise and shows no interest.

Dear all,

I'm so excited to have my boy's 4 pieces of art work brought back home yesterday. It's amazing that the teacher guided the kids to make the park, shishu rolls, photo frame and 風車. Apart from drawing, my boy has his design, painting, creativity and application of different skills. As my boy tells, the kids do the work bit by bit in the class, say fishing pond, building house... for the park.

For ECA, my boy in K.2 has still lots of time to develop his interest, he likes drawing very much, willing to practise piano (still learning songs of the notes ABCDE). Definitely, he doesnt like sport.

rejected?  you applied for Academy for Performing Arts?  Otherwise, I think music classes will not reject applicants as long as you pay and they have places, right?

YES, their art works finished at school are quite 'serious' and nice gar   

My son loves sports very much.  I think if I let him pick ECA freely, he will choose all sports.  He's learning swimming now with quite encouraging progress and he is also asking for learning table tennis and tennis, even football.  I applied government's table tennis courses, still waiting for ballot result.  Tennis and football, I think he's still not tall and old enough to do these.   

He also loves drawing, but absolutely no interest in music (singing is okay   )

The very kind of you both!  I decided to put my son in Victoria CWB for K1 and see if he likes the teaching style there.  Actually I don't think I'm a well-preparing mummy as I found many parents here are very knowledgeable about applying schools for their kids whereas I look very ignorant of what happened out there.  You know what? I have only applied 2 kindergatens for my son and touch wood both of them are being accepted.  It makes the picture that I feel like I have choices! It scares me afterwards if none of them accept my son... ... my husband will be going to    me!!!!
I guess probably becos I'm terrifyingly busy working mother and I don't have friends having kids!!  :-|

I applied to the HK Children's Strings, they are quite serious, commented my son not suitable to join now, he is too small to understand the teacher's instruction wor.
He really performed too bad in the interview.
I might try again next year.

I think violin is more difficult than piano so maybe more suitable for elder kids.  Yes try next year

Congratulations!  So far this term my boy got 2 times x 10 good boy cards and exchanged for 2 presents.  He is now accumulating his 3rd batch.   

Tomorrow there will be raining bor.    Any idea if it's heavily raining, will they cancel the outing?    If yes, all boys will be very disappointed lah    My son's 1st sentence this morning is 'Yee..tomorrow we will have outing ah...yeah!'

Another question, did you notice that several Chinese rhymes taught are not in books?  Don't know how to review them if they're not there.    I plan to call teacher to ask.

Congulation both of you to got the "good child"card. Let me count the amount of cards tonight. My son tell me the story of assessment must come from the school books . Is it true?  What is  the exercise or activities  hadl be taught in P.E. lession ?

Did your boys tell you about the outing yesterday?  

My boy said he's very tired wow     But they should have indoor activities only, right?

After back home, he just sit in the sofa and didn't want to move and after dinner, slept right away (8:00 pm) and until I left home (8:30 am) this morning, he didn't wake up!!

At this quite 'difficult' point of time, we received a good news yesterday.  

My boy has participated in the 填色比賽 organized by 廉政公署 (I think you also know that competition cos school distributed the picture and kids could freely participate).  Yesterday the organizer informed me that my son's entry got 亞軍 in the competition      They said they will inform the school later on formally and the prize presentation ceremony will be held in Jan. 2007 at 新伊館as part of a big function and the function will be broadcasted in radio.

Thanks god !  

I was worrying about how to build up 番 my son's confidence and now the prize just come to do that for me. Very grateful.

Just to share with you this good news.

Really?  My boy luckily got the 1st runner-up and I have already got a letter from ICAC about the prize presentation ceremony.

Ha..... our school got the first three prizes??!! Do you know how many kindergartens joined the competition?  Or only our school?     

But anyway we're very happy and proud of our boys' achievements       My son very seriously did the colouring word for several nights so the reward is indeed an encouragement to him.

It's too busy on work recently, no time to arrange any activities to my son in the holiday.

Do u have any planning in X'mas?

I have scheduled following activities -

24th - home party (will invite grandparents come, have hot pot at home)     

25th -> 27th - stay at Disneyland Hotel for 2 nights.  There are X'mas party and workshops for kids in the Hotel.  Will also take chance to play "Ngong Ping 360" cable car on 27th.  

28th -> no plan yet.  Perhaps should reserve some time for preparing the assessment.

Originally plan to enrol my son to some workshops during the holiday and 2nd thought is before primary, let him to have more free playing time so....
