even if that is the way that we choose the school to our kids, so what!!!  Please read carefully about this topic. You are free to open a new flag if you want to discuss something esle.

As I said, we can't stop you in this kind of open discussion forum but please don't disturb us and be polite. If you want to find fun, it's not the right place. If you are really serious in talking about teaching kids and selecting school, I think there are a lot of bk parents would like to share with you the experience under a new topic.

Happy learning is the best teaching style in the world.

1. I don't have to bother my son's homework.  Indeed I don't understand his homwork at all.

2. Most of my friends' kids go to DBS and St. Paul.  If I tell them my son go to ABC primary school, what a shame!!  No!  I must pick a sort of "special" school in order to explain how special the  school is.

3. I am too busy and lazy to teach my son.  Just simply put him to the happy learning school.  They have less homwork and exam.  Good ideas.

4. I want one, which is close to my apparment.

5. The school is good.  The principle is nice and kind.  He has a sense of humour too.  So, I am sure he can manage the school well.

6. After my son attend the school, he feels very happy everyday.  Happy is the most important. I don't care what he learns from school.  The most important is "happy together". and "have fun"
Traditional knowledge??? Who cares!!!!!!!!

Life is so easy and wonderful!!!

Anyway, I am just trying to make points here.  But some of you just feel uncomfortable.  Why??  Because I just have different opinion on DSS primary school.   The other lady told his bad expereince with the DSS primary shcool.  You guys just went crazy.

I will forgive you because I understand there are so many people in HK like you.  They influence each other.  Anyway, I respect your decision.

But remeber when you take MTR next time, don't teach your kid to rush into it and elbow for a seat.  Don't speak on the cell.  phone loudly..........OK.  don't let them drink Goo in the MTR.  Education is not just picking a happy shcool.  You need to train them and educate them.  You have to do a good model to them.  Go home and discuss with your husband tonight.  Be a good parents tommorrow.  OK?

I do not quite understand your (Jovis) view. Are you critisizing "New Teaching Style" or "GT School"?

Dear Jovis,

Thank you for your reminding and critic. The rights for freedom of speech should mean a polite, reasonable and respect.

In Hong Kong, we have freedom to choose and we really treasure the rights. I should admit that traditional school will provide good knowledges to children than DSS school. The intention for applying GTS is to allow my kid to "think different", accept her limitation and respect other people.

As a role model to my kid, I give up my foul language which was trained in the University. We are studying now to show the concept of life-long education to our kid. We will switch off TV during dinner time and we will not watch the drama too. I switch newspaper reading from appledaily to HKEJ. I am sure you should be a good role model too.

I think you are responsible and serious parent so that you have raised the concerns between tradition school and DSS. I don't think GTS is a perfect school but suitable for us and our kid.

I was graduated from band 3 secondary school and I am glad that I have supportive parents to encourage me  so that I can be here today. I believe you are supportive parent too.

Anyway, thank you for your post and hope you and your kid are healthy and happy.

Obviously, you are different from them.  You know what you do.  That is for sure.  I am sorry (only for you) if my words were too extreme for you.   I am not looking for trouble here.  

Indeed I dropped by last night and found some really stupid stuff in this forum.  A lady had a very bad experience in one of the DSS school in TKO.  His son was in trouble.  She has been seeking for help.  You know???  However, many TKO little women yelled to this lady.  They questioned her purpose here.  I read it and I almost got to flow up.  Geeeee!!  Those bottom well frogs just can't accpet any nagetive stuffs about the school.  Indeed, the poor lady has never disclose the school name.  Come on!!
Tell me.  Is TKO just another Tin Sui Wai??? or Tung Chung??

"Only following our own believes, who cares it is right or wrong??" I tell you what??  This kind of statement is only suitable for novels.  In real world, it is 100% worng.  Those middle east terrorists are doing what they believe.  Who cares it is right or wrong.  The world doesn't work that way.  Anyway, you won't understand.  Forget about it!

I am no different from other parents as I care my kid and other people's kid too. I share the same feeling as you but if I were the lady I would have been voiced out promptly and told other people with evidence because I care other people's kid too.

We don't have time to discuss and find out the facts as the registeration time is too close. What do you think?

For the matter of TKO, I think I can give you some ideas as I have been living in TKO for 16 years. There are many new couples coming to TKO around 1997, 2001 and 2003. Therefore, the seat for kindergarten is very full(esp good with resonable price kindergarten like Saviour Army, you need to apply for a seat when the baby is borned. My friend got a waiting list of 20 when he reserved the seat for his son on his 14 days). There are many playgroups, interest classes, study classes in TKO(esp in my area)

As I chit-chat with other parents, they are generally very care about their kid development esp. their interests and they have planned a lot for their kid. Public schools are in high competition among themselve and we can see a lot of popaganda around the school. There are relatively higher number of DSS in TKO like GTS, Evangel, Legos etc..

I think the higher income group and lower income group is about half-half but you can see many papa taking care of their kid. I see little issue of gangster when compare with other distincts I come across. There is no TV game centre and only few bars in TKO.

Personally, I do think TKO is more similar to Sai Tin than the distincts you mentioned.

我是路過的，見你經常說讓子女入讀非傳統學校的父母就是懶惰的夫母，言則你是一個勤奮及有腦的人，但看你的寫作，很多時都模不著頭腦，因為實在太多錯字。若言你是傳統教育制度下的精英，就足以証明現今制度的缺憾，所以才會令人卻步。
