I do agreed that MingWai is quite commercial, but I feel a lot of kindergarten will do so since they want to gain more registration fee.  Are you attending Int'l class?  Last time I also paid for a seat since they said they only have 1 Int'l class, I am not sure but we will see when my daughter starts in Oct 2006.
Sometimes, if you hear a lot of comments, you will find different kindergartens have good comments and bad comments, 靈糧堂, mums said is not very good now, you can see another topics about them.  寶血, mums said they have to let their child to learn PTH outside because mums said their syllabus is simple.  I read newspaper yesterday about P1 interview - some schools will use 3 language to interview childs?  There is no 1 kindergarten is perfect, it seems we have to do a lot more to fight for a seat for good schools!      But if you push your child too much, we and our child will be under too much pressure!

明慧的確係較有商業化,相比起維記,維記就更商業化.其實呢D私校,比起教會或機構既學校,就一定係甘,因為無甘多backup嘛!

我亦曾經因為一D問題及佢地既行政政策,攪到唔開心,想轉校,但後來了解過,同問過教幼稚園既朋友,先知原來好多學校都係甘做,只是我要求太高及太多!
當年K1蘇淅及聖馬加利大都收囡囡,但最後我都留低直上K1.

你係咪報黎跟呢年讀N1,佢地既上午班(本地班),係好full嫁,好快就無位.所以我囡囡當年入左下午班.
國際班,因為無下午班......,所以如果你真係決定讀,真係見意你交留位費.

我好同意你講法,每一間學校不律幾出名幾名校,都一定有人認為好或唔好,只要付合自己既要求就巳經0K喇!因為每一個人要求都唔同嘛!

頭先同老師八到,現在N1國際班有2班,黎跟呢年好多人下,如果多得太多,可能要開多班,3班,但如果唔係多得甘緊要,收曬2班就算!

I received a call from KCS yesterday asking me why I don't go for registration ($660).  I told them because I prefer am class.  If they can give me am class, I might think about paying the registration fee.  Then the teachers said "from their past experience, if you don't pay the registration fee, there is a very very small chance that you can queue up for am class.  Then I just say "bye" to them It means a lot of kindergarten also don't know their attendance each years, they just try to gain for more registration fee!
By the way, I registered MingWai for the coming Oct is in last September for a seat.  I think tlai if you really want your child to study at MingWa (Int'l), you really have to act fast.
tlai, you are right that a lot of International school is without teaching Chinese and very expensive.  MingWai (Int'l) I think is a reasonable price and teaching Chinese one.  But I still have to see how they are "Int'l"
Tea time, it is difficult, I work Mon - Fri in Wanchai.  But we can see!

Honestly, I will also try to apply other Kindergartens for K1.  If the result is not my favourite choice, I have no choice to stay at MingWai.  I believe MingWai is okay to stay until K3.  There P1 will have to try hard...... :tongue:

            Can I also join your topic? actually I have read your topic for some time, however I am so busy from my work and no time to go over all the messages, I just read all your messages, and what you discuss about is what I am consider as well!!!

               I also consider KCS/ KCIS/ Mingwai/ SPN/SPK, however, cause my girl is born in Dec. so no need to consider SPN, as they usually like 大仔, therefore I have go to 明慧, to get the application form 2 weeks ago and also download the form from KCS/KCIS's homepage. I still consider which to let her to go to.... cause my family do speak Mandarin, so I think if she go to KCS/KCIS is okay for her to continue with PTH.
             But as I know Mingwai (Int'l) also the mainstream is english plus Mandarin, so I like it so much as well. And the location is more convenience than KCS. I lived in Kornhill, but I won't consider 維記....too expensive, and seems not really as good as Mingwai and KCS.

             Mingwai tell me that they can interview my girl anytime, I still thinking that........last time when I go there and get the application form, while I am filling in the form they already ask me the pay the money ($30 only), but other schools, they would only ask u to pay after u hand in the form.....this point is the one I feel not very happy about them , and like u guys say, they are a bit commerical....
              But I agree with all of u that, good school should have their buying point, and I still have confidence to Mingwai, only last time I can't go into see the enviroment....can anyone give me any opinion to my choice? thanks!!

        How's is 酋酋? Do u remember me? I am also 0412 mummy, really no time to go there....I also plan to let my girl to start study N1 in Jan-07. Will u let her to go to Int'l class or Local class?

                Although I lived in Kornhill, but I don't know much about the kindergarten in Tai Koo, also seems most of them didn't teach Mandarin, so that's why I prefer Mingwai / KCS/KCIS.......    But still 15/16 which one is better.....

Let me explain more.  MingWai (Int'l), it does teach Mandarin in K1 but not N1, I also read a lot of 幼稚園天書before I choose MingWai (Int'l).  I also read an essay about 畢業典禮﹐ saying that child can speak fluent English and Mandarin for their speech (very impressive).  But for how they are "Int'l", I still have to see when my girl starts in Oct 2006.  My point of view is, for N1, why I choose MingWing not KCS (my girl also accepted there) because KCS mainstream is Mandarin and I don't really want my girl learn Mandarin when she is only 2, I prefer her to learn English first, and I support mums in KCS because some mums will put their child for KCS + KCIS for K1 (Hk$7,000 per mth) and that is I would not do so.  It is too expensive to me and I could not afford it.  Therefore I have choosen MingWai (Int'l) for N1 and try other kindergarten for K1 e.g. SPK, SH, 寶血﹐ 靈糧堂﹐ etc.  Actually, 嶺南also accept my daughter for N1, but I live in ChaiWan, it is too far away and I don't really like to environment of 嶺南, their teaching lanuage is Cantonese, etc.  If you agreed with me for the above, MingWai (Int'l) is a good choice for N1.  What do you think?

         Actually I don't have much time to search those nursey, so I don't know if there is any good nusery in TaiKoo or Kornhill, do any one know some good nusery in TaiKoo ?

          乜明慧 N1 (Intl)唔係已經用Mandarin +English teaching 咩? 我真係唔知喎.....
         My plan is let her try to study 明慧 for N1 先,if everything goes right and she is happy to study there , that's no harm for her to continue study the K1-K3. But I hope she can transfer to St.Paul's K1 ideally, 因為想佢直升,唔駛第日撲學校咁煩......
            KCS+KCIS I agree with u that, is too expensive and 唔就腳......
            嶺南雖然近我返工嗰度,不過車程太遠,No Way....

         所以我諗應該會報明慧... 不過下学期先入學lor....waiting for your sharing after your girl start to study in Mingwai, Hope our girls can be classmates later!!!
