請問係咪私小上直資中學唔係100% 直上,係因為未結龍既關係? 咁直資小學上直資中學,就冇咁既癮憂?

請高手指教!

I had the impression that DGJS was thru-train to DGS until I received the Interview Letter (back in September) which stated vaguely the thru-train transition from DGJS to DGS is still under consideration and promotion to DGS is not guaranteed.  Anyway they collected the letter from us at the interview and we did not make a copy of it.

I am glad that my daughter is accepted, but if this type of nightmare has to repeat in 6 years' time, that is....

Any information about the present situation and what would be the new arrangement?  I know DGS has just changed from subsidized school to DSS last year.

對呀, 我都認為我如你所講 "you are very much protecting DGJS", 這個當然, 原因很簡單: 我囡囡在這校讀書, 而某君指控這校的不是, 卻又遲遲未能舉出實例; 偏偏我又感受不到如某君所講的這校的不是!

換作你是我, 相信都很有興趣想知, 究竟那些"無家底 being selected"的人到底是如何"suffered because they are not part of the crowd and most likely they will be discriminated"的?

本人願意洗耳恭聽.

註: 這幾次與elegant君的討論, 的確與本題"DGJS Results????????"有點兒相離, 請各位見諒.

I think you better read the messages carefully before making statements, I believe those mums come to this topic do at least consider or very much want their daughter to study at DJGS including myself.  DGJS is definitely a good school in terms of accadamic and there is no doubt that parent will be very happy is their daughter got admitted.  Frankly speaking, although I want my daughter to study there also but I have a concern over discrimination as I was recently told about this from one of the family who I trust and believe that they are honest.  As I said before, BK is a free forum for people to express their views, I think it is not fair to state just positive side of DGJS but we should be more realistic and be prepared to listen to the negative side as well.

So it is definitely not "吃不到的葡萄是酸的".

如此好消息，大家都會有一個愉快聖誕。

姑不論是現讀P.1囡囡插班成功 (插班是現在收信我不曉得)，或是她打算待女兒明年重讀 P.1，再或是另有細女考上了，都值得恭喜，起碼大家都找到下台階，不用亦不會再糾纏下去。

大家是不是好好的慶祝下呢，聖誕快樂!

From all the comments I heard about DGJS, I cannot find the -ve aspects of DGJS (including those who worked in the Education Bureau). So can anybody share the -ve aspects of DGJS (excluding unfair selection criteria). Tks.

Your question about the -ve aspects of DGJS is very interesting, and I have been thinking about that, too.  After all, nothing can be perfect.

I guess a big negative point that I find in DGJS (at least from what I heard) is that the class is too homogeneous.  Since the school mistress only chooses one kind of girl in the interview (the most assertive/hardworking group), I would think that the class may not be that interesting to join...(Or maybe not so interesting to teach...)

A healthy and dynamic class needs to be comprised of students with different backgrounds, interests, and characters.  Otherwise, the children may lack the ability to deal with a more diverse group in the future.

Another issue that I'm thinking about is the school's value.  Is teaching children materials that are several years ahead really a merit?  If the children are capable of doing so, it's certainly fine.  But just for curiosity, what happens to the girl when they finish F7? Have they reached the level of a BA/BSc?

If I had a child, I would want him/her to be critical of his/her surrounding and believe in his/her powers.  Does DGJS believe in this, too? How does it achieve this goal?  Perhaps, I'm asking for too much... After all, this is just a school....Maybe that's the parents' job...

Hm.. then.. I guess my only expectation from a school is that it makes my child happy. Can DGJS do that?

I know happy DGJS girls and the not so happy one.  Just like what one will find in many other schools.

你係都要聽的-ve comments既話,我就聽過的閒言話女拔既女生可娶性好低.而我有朋友係入面教緊書既就話有小部份的家長好煩,好鍾意show off.  

不過如果你決定在讀這間學校,就應該發掘佢既長處,忘記佢既短處,咁先有開開心心既12年.

I have 2 staff, both in their early 30s . One from DGS. Both went to university. Honestly do not find the DGS one any different or better. Didnt even know she was from DGS until the other staff told me.I dont really think the school they come from makes a v significant difference in working life later on.
