My girl is Oct/2006.
To be honest, I can say she is talent on Language development including Mandarin, Chinese and English, further enhanced by me. She did take extra courses on academic side but I put a lot of effort to further enhance it (as I saw her talent on those areas) so her academic is far exceed the level of past interviews and very stable in answering. I’m not preparing to list out what sort of courses she has been taken as those courses are indeed nothing special and I believe 90% of the parents who may source extra courses for their children have chosen / knew them already (and I don’t want later all parent followed the same menu as me, end up all kids are suffering
.. so Don’t PM me for that, sorry.).
Besides, thanks god, she is born with outspoken and confident character that I think nothing can be really enhanced at such young age. She took drawing, choir and dancing class, for interaction with peers. She has baby face and small build in fact.
For her profile, I guess she has got reasonable amount of Competition / Exam certificates with sound grading to show her strength as well as the contribution and support from family. Again, as I saw her talent, majority of the Competition / Exam certificates are trained by me. Honor goes to her talent, not my training skill. Another reason for self-train is I’m not relief if my maid brings my girl out for lessons, too worries for the traveling time.
I’m a working mum and used to arrive home after 20:00, you can imagine how much I and my beloved have been contributed after my bathing and dinner time, which is almost 20:30, over the past 1.5 years, started when she was just 3.5 years old (K1 second Semester). And … daddy, not much contribution on studying issues except he is a good driver for the logistics issue. She is gifted on certain areas so her progress is extraordinary. One day, she has reached a 平台期, by that time, I can’t handle my temper and emotion when she can’t perform as good as the past. We ran through a dark period (In fact my eye is now full of tear for being guilty over that period). I think the “dark period” will usually arrive at the first 1-2 years of primary but we (me and my girl) have to face it at such young age … it’s too bad. … BUT I believed I have overcome already .. I can take it easy now
… people, including me, will definitely growth and learn from mistake …
If she doesn’t have such areas of talent, I won’t do that. Even I do that, it will not work.
So parent, base on your kid’s talent, explore and enhance it. There is no successful formulation but No pain, no gain.
