Dear P1 new parents

Give you another reason for not wrapping books, which has educational implications:

Learning may be far beyond school specified books. When you start the coming semester, school would give you a reading scheme book, which targeting at 100+ books to be read in about 9 months, with diverse topics. Some kids read far more than this nominal amount. Textbooks/exercises however do provide some structural exposure.

For all-round & in-depth learning, some parents may think about whether  school books are enough for the kids. Some kids spend substantial time in reading/doing beyond school books. Hence these kids don't spend most time in read/doing school books, & as a result, the school books are still in good condition after 1 year, even without being wrapped.

It's 1 of the educational lines of thoughts behind the choice of wrapping them or not.

& there're reasons for wrapping as well:

1. If kids do homework slowly, some kids may play with the books, torture the books, draw/write irrelevant pictures/words on the books, tear off pages of books,... when the kids lose patience and/or gradually lose self-control
2. The kids like the books very much   that they read/do them very frequently. How frequent? Let's estimate. The student handbook cannot last for 1 term, as daily the kid has to write on it, uses the timetable on it; the teacher has to sign on it; the parents have to sign on it, check warning message page, timetable page, write body temperature. The handbook is used for about 30+ page times a week. If the kids use a book for this frequency. The book may be needed to be wrapped, & repaired using stickers before term end.
3. The kids like to play with books. In extreme case, some kids are book cover terminators , needing special protection on book covers.
4. The kids are improper book users, like throwing books, rolling pages, stepping on books ,...
5. Parents who are not quite sure the durability of the books under their kids' use, & hence prefer to buy an insurance - wrapping the books. In this case, wrapping 1st term books may be a good choice for trial to see if they still need to wrap the books from 2nd term onwards.

例如 小食部 or 教員室門口 or 女洗手間外的洗手位~

and, 如果唔想錯失在課室的見面時間 最好私下交換咗自己同班小朋友名先 咁會容易啲打招乎
