Thank you CCM and HappyBee, the school bus time is so early! My girl is still in her bed and so do I.    That's the drawback of going to half-day school.

What's the best way to go to school (from Taikoo) if not taking the school bus (apart from taxi) ? Any suggestion ?

Sorry that I couldn't notice your message earlier, the two meetings was held in this afternoon, one is for P.1 parents and another one is for PTA committee election.

There are mini-buses that take SH students too.  They are normally later in terms of pick-up time although in the case of SH, it won't be too far off from 7:10am due to the distance       

However, I don't have these contacts as I am not keen to let my girl drop outside of the school.  THe school buses can drive right into the school.

can you pls provide little bit more info, such as the name of the bus company, i found the school bus is too early also, besides, one mami told me the air-cond is off (not out of order) for our bus and it is pretty hot in that way.

I have left the school after the parents' meeting.  So, I missed the PTA meeting last Sat.

Actually, I am a bit disappointed  :-|  about the parents' meeting because I expected there would be more time spent on parents-to-class teacher direct communication instead of sitting in the hall for one and other video/powerpoint shows.  Moreover, due to the shows were over-run, the Q&A session had been cancelled.  I think most of the topics can be covered in the 1st parents' meeting held on Aug 31!

Actually, in the past two years, I already heard about this problem in K/G from other parents in K/G. We had also asked the teachers in K/G to resolve the problems among K/G and primary section.  But........ :exclaim:

Hello,

I am also P1 student parent. My daughter studied other Kindergarten, not SH.

I checked the Chinese dictionary and found that the teacher's correction on my daughter's Chinese writing is correct.  Example the word "學", I, as an adult and writes so many words in the past, didn't know that the usual way or "筆劃" of writing "子"  is incorrect.

I consider that is good. Sometimes we get lost of the original truth when we grow up or do not have time to trace the correct writing.

So far two writing exercise had been done, and I found the teacher was correct for those words she marked incorrect.

And I like that. As we love our kid and our tolerance of their fault usually is the biggest. However, sometimes we would lessen our requirement / standard on them.

Of course, it is right to let the kids to learn the correct writing of Chinese characters.  I appreciate the teacher in Primary school in pointing the incorrect writing of my kid. She will even use a different colour pen to highlight where is the incorret part of the writing.

However, our point is that taking into account Sacred Heart K/G and Sacred Heart Primary Schools (both AM & PM) are affiliated schools, there should be better communication among the teachers in teaching the writing of Chinese characters in order to avoid confusion caused to the kids.  For some writing, which was 'correct' in K/G, is told to be incorrect now.  In such a case, the kids will need extra effort to learn 'one' word.  So, it is better to teach them the correct (according to the dictionary) one at the very beginning in Sacred Heart K/G.

I think this problem is happened every year (at least for the last 3 years) but I don't know why it is so difficult to be resolved among the Sacred Heart K/G and the Sacred Heart Primary Schools.

我聽Sindy講，中文字形的問題在下午班與幼稚園的銜接上是沒有問題的，而她亦指出幼稚園與下午班教授的字形是符合教統局的統一標準字形。

小女由於並非由幼稚園升上，所以並沒有注意到這個問題。   若有機會的話我會嘗試去了解上午班教的中文字體是否不符合教統局的標準，真的不符合的話原因何在？

No need to worry, the teachers will tell you the scope of test one week or 10 days in advance.  If your girl cannot attend the Dictation, it would be counted as ABS only.   

For test or exam, I have no idea of the school's arrangement, but I don't think it would be marked as "zero".
