Hi Tina,

Recording to the book, I can finish the 1st 50 words within half month and then can go to yhe step 2. Is it use the same size card like the word card and th word will become very small and I'm afraid that the baby can't see clearly. How's your idea?

最初我也是看如何讓你的寶寶更聰明, 由於認同當中的理念, 才再看"閱讀" "數學" "百科知識" 這幾本書的. "更聰明"這本書包含了後三本書的大部份內容. 但我仍會建議看 "閱讀" 及 "百科知識" 兩本. 因為內容更為詳盡.

1)孩子還小, 可以多一點時間在第一階段. 到認識至少五十個詞語才進入第二階段較好. 嬰兒學詞語會比學短句快一點. 但不要一直教詞語而不進入第二階段. 可以在教到五十個詞語後, 組合成短句試一試反應, 如果理想的話便加多一點短句, 否則還是暫時主要教詞語.

2)你說得對.  實行這個方法最大付出是時間及耐心.

我們不可一下子縮少字體及增加字數. 所以如果要進入第二階段組成片語的話, 可以用大一點的卡. 例如把兩張A4紙拼在一起.

Dear Tina

my b is now 8 mth, how can I start teaching him to read? I've tried to let him see the 1-10 cards and A-Z cards for 2 months (not continuously day by day), he seems boring and could not stop moving around.  He loves to move until getting tired, so how could I make him settle and stimulate his interest to read? pls advise. many thanks!

ps-I'm a working mum and can only teach him after 9pm and he will fall asleep about 9.30pm

我的阿姨現在每天用普通話教bb15至20個中文詞語.(bb現在3個多月大,而我的阿姨是講普通話的)
我們怕bb只懂普通話發音,不懂廣東話發音,因我們是跟bb說廣東話的.

1)可否同一組生字用普通話教2次及用廣東話教一次?應該怎樣?請指教.

最好不要先教1-10數字或A-Z字母. 因為這些對嬰孩來說均是抽象符號. 最好用圓點教數學, 因為有多少點是一個事實而不是一個符號. 英文則用apple, bottle這些實物名詞開始. 孩子會較易明白及較有興趣.

如果只能在九時以後教, 就晚上教一次. 另外早上臨出門口上班前教一次吧. 早上起床後孩子對父母的依戀較強, 學習興趣會更高, 是黃金時間.

要想清楚你想教孩子什麼.  如果要教廣東話及普通話雙語, 就要每樣都教三次. 而不是二次普通話加一次廣東話.

謝謝賞識.  想孩子能吸收及有興趣, 卡閃得越快越好. 有解釋的話會大大減慢學習的速度. 所以無須即時解釋. 要解釋的話可以另找與孩子傾談的時間, 不要與卡一起教.

對剛開始的孩子, 應盡量選用他熟悉的詞語(名詞), 例如爸爸媽媽或他的擁有物, . 避免教一些新的東西. 新的東西可以用百科圖教.

Hi Tina

Since half year ago, I came across your web-site and know about the way to teach baby ready..etc from you(very good web site).  Then, I immediately start to make a lot of English and Chinese letter, for the first three months, my little girl (she was 15 months) perform very good, and she got progress a lot (80 chinese words and 150 english words) and she love to play this game.  Every day when I back home, she would pick up the cards and ask me to play with her.  All my friends and relative are so surprise of such a little girl can read.  

However, 3 moths later, she seems getting not feeling like to learn. Especially after a long vacation from America, I have no idea, she suddenly don't have any interested in learning the card.  

I guess may be my hand writing on the papers are not in tidy (because after using several times, it doesn't look good on a A4 paper).  Then I tried to order the cards (三之三) from the agent in HK, as usually, she doesn't like to learn.

I feel a bit fructuated.  Could you give me some comment.

咁你有無同佢進入第2,3,4,5的階段, 即係片語, 短句, 句子, 書的階段呢? 如果經常停留在第一階段看詞語, 稍大一點的孩子會覺得沉悶的.

For teaching English we can enter into reading short sentense and book stage, but for Chinese, I tried enter to phase, but failed.

So in order to make her fall interested in learning falsh card again, do you have any suggestion or experience can share with me.
