其實屋企的电腦是可以看电視的，但我們只用來看一些資料性的節目及新聞，而兒子從不選擇看劇集，他的娛樂多是看書，看了六年啦，他老師說，他的語文水平較一般同齡小朋友高很多。

其實屋企的电腦是可以看電視的，但我們只是看一些資訊性的節目及新聞，兒子從不選看电視劇集，他的娛樂主要看書，看了六年啦！老師說：他的語文小平較同齡的小朋友高很多，所以我真的很多謝當年的垃圾婆。

其實，我在兒子小三的時候，發覺他看書實在很沈迷，就好似其他小朋友迷打機，追電視劇咁，我就成日勸他温下書，唔好睇咁多課外書，但總係勸唔聽，点知他當年竟考全級第一，今年五年級，學校話最好所有小五生都參加劍橋英語FLYER考試，但老師竟建議他考    PET，剛剛出了成績，他考了PASS WRITH   MERIT，我開心了幾日，便常常想起當年的垃圾婆了。

看過你的例子後，我也躍躍欲試，希望量身訂做一個英文閱讀計劃給女兒，前邊已簡略講述小女的情況，對此個案你有沒有甚麼意見？有甚麼資源/網站可以讓我去研究呢？

會不會讓他在小六時考FCE(即是PET的高一級)？因為想知小六生考FCE是否可行。

我想不會了，老師說考PET，只是想證實他的能力及為升中鋪路，
FCE你唔講我都唔知他可以考。

認同沒有電視機真的有好成績。家中電視機在考試前一個月
壞了，直到考完試後才買新電視，小兒成績較以前為好。

Then after my boy had switched to study at international schools, I was inspired by the school's teaching approach and learnt from the school the style of education, the various types and techniques of structural English reading schemes.  I have conducted in-depth data search and discussions  with teachers, parents, CP and EP about the child's development psychology, learning behaviour and methodologies, etc. I then developed tailor-made reading and writing schemes to cope with the various development stages of my boy based on the techniques learnt from the school.

{Note that as I had said before that "Reading" is not just let your kid free hand reading, there are various types, methodologies and techniques in-line with different development stages.  Apart from reading, appropriate writing practices schemes in-line with the ability in English reading has also to be adopted hand by hand.  All the schemes are well-structured with a lot of implementation techniques.}

Wisekid, Your kid's English standard is impressive indeed.  Is he also keen on Chinese?  If yes, I would really appreciate your sharing on this as there are quite a few parents who are having a headache balancing the learning of the two languages.

想問下你係採用 one parent one language (OPOL) 或是 minority language at home 去發展你的孩子成為 bilingual kid？

我係香港人，太太係外國人，因父母使用不同語言，有人同我講話阿仔係"bilingual kids" (我都係有咗阿仔至知有呢個叫法)。

如果你和你太太對孩子是 consistently 說不同的語言，你的孩子就是「bilingual kid」。語言治療師有不同的 scale 給 bilingual kid。可以找語言治療師看是不是有問題。據我所知，如果他可以在兩種語言都能夠講完整句子表達自己，就不是問題。至於閱讀方面，以我所知，bilingual kid係唔會發展得比其他人差。
