I understand your worries and concerns and I think your term "tradictional' is very creative and vivid
If St. Jo Primary accepted my son, I would definitely let my son there.
Pressure from school work is not unique to local traditional schools. I don't believe that kids/parents of int'l schools have no pressure. Like you, you said you couldn't sacrifice Chinese studies, right? My friends whose kids in int'l schools (even relatives living in Canada), they worry about their children's Chinese learning, Maths. They also hire private tutors, and send their kids for a lot of ECA.
All of us have worries and pressure. The only difference is on which subject you worry about. So it doesn't matter whether it's St. Joseph or St. Stephen, no fundemental difference.
