Sorry to confuse you. Last year, my friend had an interview, likely because she is catholic. She sent the letter after the school allocation exercise and had an interview in late July. I am quite similar to her case.

My husband and daughter are also catholic.  Can you tell more about the case of last year?  or your case?

Kamen, 未知你囡囡有多少課外活動。但單純指普通話堂而言，每星期只有一課，課本上簡单對話沒問題，要日常應用個人認為不夠。

Welcome.  As a new P1 parent, we all shared similar concerns last year.

"Don't worry, your daughter will enjoy her school life in the coming six years"  I recalled that statement shared by an alumni in PTA briefing section.  Of couse, I still had lots of questions, worry,  ....
One year after, I'm convinced.  

I echo Isis_Iain's comment.   It appears to me that the school puts more emphasis on developing desirable attitude and reading habit at this stage.

I'm very pleased to share with you that this is not a school that push on short-term performance by academic drilling. It has a culture that nurtures sustainable all rounded excellence.

My tip is take the opportunity in this transition year to let her develops a sense of belonging to this new environment and to develop herself as a self-motivated and confident learner.  (This is even more challenging than getting a lot of A      )

Is your daughter receive the booklist from school ?
Is the school has the bookfair to purchase the booklist for coming Sept.?

I called the school today, they said the letter for 堂費 and booklist will be mailed to P.1 students in mid of July.  You will get the information regarding the book purchase arrangement in the same letter.

We do not have the booklist yet...

Recall last year, the booklist was mailed together with some notices. There will be a day set that you can go to school to purchase the books as the supplier will go to school to sell it.

Other parents please correct me if I quote it wrong... :) :)
