About "English Oral"

We are very concerned about the problem that my daughter has with her English Oral performance.

We are surprised that she continuously got a disappointing grade in 1st and 2nd term.  The problem is we don't understand her problem.  Whenever we ask her about the class activity and the assessment, she is not willing to explain.

Basically, she is comfortable in switching to English speaking environment in her social life. She plays, learns and makes friends with non-Chinese speaking children and adult.  

We would like to help, but we have no clue on what and how to do?

Have you ever asked your daughter to read the books, i.e MP, LCC, WRS in front of you ?  You will know if her pronouciation is correct or not.  Also the tone of reading is very important,  not just reading it but with emotions.    Of course not to overdo it.

Perhaps ask the class teacher directly to find out the root. Maybe just nervous in front of the teacher?

Thanks very much for your very useful advice.

She doesn't like to read aloud in front of me, so I seldom have a chance to see her practice at home.  

We realize that while she has great fun in reading stories at home, she feels nervous reading the reader during the assessment.   

Having a better understanding, now I can try to help by making the "read aloud" more fun.  :idea:
