similar to minnie, methods I apply on my girl:-

1. phonics
2. 拆字法
3. 死 memory
4. for dictation, early prepared, if 10 words, split into 3 days to memorise, 4 for the first day, 7 for the 2nd day (including the 4 old words) & all for the last days

I will also suddenly ask her how to spell during the day/bathing gar   Sometimes, I ask her to spell one word, & then she choose one to spell & then my turn again.....she finds interesting & willing gar as she chooses the easiest for herself & I choose those she always getting wrong law.  

If you involves games in spelling words, they will find more interesting & involved gar especially for those active kids........but need more time & your "sum c" law  :

因佢係上周三話定要帶相, 咁周四, 五無普通話堂, 如果周五講都記得.

Sometimes, my hubby even changes the 串字 into a song tim....easier to memorise ma.:

My little son used this method & created his own song to spell all the names of months

because of this minor issue, I started to place a big desk calendar on my girl's desk to remind her & myself.   All special dress code/events/holiday/after school classes will be marked clearly on the calendar.

各一套, 跟住在外面配多一套.  (新夾棉褸冇買呀..因成二百多蚊) 你有冇訂呀?

你地有冇參加過校際音樂節or會唔會參加??我見佢話75分以上會有張cert,有用嗎, 但琴老師話,咁又要操曲,會拖慢進度, 請比d意見我呀?

中默 is more difficult, as no phonics can be applied ma, only can use 拆字法 + 死 memorise + write/dicate more

same as English, start revision earlier & memorise bit by bit law
