I believe the reason is;  there are more  private schools  for girls than boys in kowloon that we can apply. Of course you can apply the school in Hong Kong Island too, but it seems too far .

Anyone get the good news for SC's boys? Pls share :

According the information from EMB posted by newspaper. La Salle College( Primary Section) had accepted 103 student in discretionary place;therefore they still have 89 seats for central allocation .Which school you are going to choose now, La Salle/ Ying Wah????

KTS this two years asked one same question.  The direction of NESW.  The others, my elder didn't know.

I also joined the KTS interview this year, but my daughter was rejected.  I was very surprised as she was both accpeted by GH and DGJS, but not KTS.

Anyway, my girl told me the teacher asked her many many questions, both in English and Chinese.  I can still recalled that they asked both subtraction and addition, read some English vocab, like Yatch, Crocrodile; read English sentances.  In chinese, they asked my daughter to describle a picture card, point out the wrong picture and tell why it is incorrect, ask her which which one (boat, ship, vessel) can sail over the ocean.  Also, they asked some basic information of the child, like name, school attending, family address, father and mother's occupation, where to work, how to go to school, if she has any brother or sister and how  old is she/he.

THe first response of my child after the interview is " they asked me many many question, and the English vocab is very difficult.  I only know some of them but not all..."  BTW, my daughter don't like this school at the first place because she think the school is too old.

Anyway, I know this is a good school too.  Hope you will get a seat next year!

My daughter had attended the interview and luckily got accepted.  According what she had told me, teacher  ask her the following question:Addition & Subtraction , Direction, English Vocab., Fill in the blank (Chinese) with words provided , Maths such as.. How long is the plane and some question about her family, General studies, picture telling.( Most likely is quite similiar that Doristsang told)

I always believe what we taught them everyday are  quite enough for the interview. Whether they got accepted or not ;we still learn something more about our kid. Before the interview, I never ask her anything, I just tell her being yourself  that is enough for me..Have faith for him /her is quite important!!

Yes, KTS is no written test and no need to interview the parents.
As you mentioned, your boy's behaviour is 'traditional', good in academic, self control, cooperative and concentrative.  Why don't you try some other school like DBS/St. Josept/SF?  I think they would like to admit "good boy".  Beside, KTS, I think you can also try 宣道.  This is just my opinion.

I also have a boy in K1, SC, I am now also planning for his P.1 admission.  The first choice of course DBS.

As I want to join the 'lucky draw' for Ying Wah, I just plan to apply private school instead of 直資.  Also, my boy's behaviour is quite 'traditional', good in academic, self control, cooperative and concentrative.  However, if a school want the kids to be 'creative', I don't think he is able to show it in an interview.  That's why I target KTS.  

Besides, there isn't many choice for boys in Kowloon side.  Do you have any suggestion?  Tks again for your opinion.

今日又知道多個同阿女同班的男仔入到男拔附小, 好開心, 佢有個女就同我個仔同年和在SC Nursary同一班, , 大家就交換心得, 如何入男拔和女拔, 放學時傾到唔捨得走....

I read with much interest your views. Could you please share how you prepare your daughter for DGS?
What courses did she take during Kindergarten and where? Also what is her daily routine like?
I'm very much interested to know.

My daughter is just an ordinary child. By luck she got accepted by DGJS.  She is studing in St. Cat. and I give her some ECA, like Kumon, Piano, Choir, Drawing and Ice Skating.  Before the interveiw, I let her know what she will be interviewed.  Also, she like Disney's Princess very much and also pretend to be a princess.  So, I just told her DGJS is a special school only for pretty princess.  So, she really want to get in.  Meanwhile, I asked her some interview like questions every night before bed.  So, she get used to those questions.

我硬係唔知interview問什麼, 我總之諗起咩就問咩, 當然唔少得一般性問題, 例如; 父母工作/住址/屋企有咩人/學校名/如何上學,另外就同佢傾多d計, 問佢一些假設性問題, 例如, 如果在街上唔見左媽咪, 你會點做? 幾時先會找policeman,和幾時先找fireman，等等，不過而家好多學校做中意問圖畫，所以最好多ｄ同佢看書，叫佢講故事比你聽

我個囡ｄECA都是在住所附近學的，除了香兒之外

I got the information last Saturday(parent's Day), there are 4 other schoolmate in essex road campus get the seat from DGJS( same class) .Totally there are 6 girls from essex road get the seat from DGJS( I konw)Are there any more ??? One of my daughter classmate get the seat from APS.

Nice to see this topic...today I've just received a call from KTS. They have accepted my boy (as he is on the waiting list), & will register next Thursday. I am so happy this morning!! Last year, I know KTS don't have place for waiting list. So I am so grad my boy can get one! Thanks God!
