We'll waiting for your earliest reply. Thanks you!
No, at least, you cannot have both for this year. You can apply to both but you need to indicate your priority.
At the moment, ESF is still a bit more popular than RC (PIS in Ma On Shan), since RC is too new and some people (including me) do not have confident yet. It is still a bit easier to get in (than SJS) this year. Easier merely means the queue is shorter. You still need to meet the minimum language requirement.
But from what I heard, they are doing an extremely good job this year. So I would not be surprised if they are equally demanded next year. In fact, the Year 1 and 2 classes are already quite full this year.
ESF are old schools with good past records. RC is a new school with modern campus and high morale. It is very difficult to compare.
I would say that to be conservative and safe, ESF schools are still better choice at this moment, especially for Year 9 and up. But on the other hand, I have talked to Peter Kenny at RC and have visited the school. I really like the school and the spirit. So, I would say, if we are talking about joining at primary school year, I would go for RC. I am sure once the whole school run in full gear (I think it is running in now), it is going to be a very good school. But I would like to give them a couple more years. I have talked to a few western teachers (teaching in various ISs) and they all rated RC to be a very good school and have heard very positive comments amongst their fellow teachers.
One more point. ESF get fundings from the government but RC does not. So the school fees are a bit different, if that is a concern.
