最近較忙少上bk. 抱歉現在才回覆.
這類學校由於沒有很多可’量化’的功課, 例如一星期要記x個生字,一天要做xx十條數,很多人會奇怪究竟學了多少? 但按目前觀察,學校功課的設計的而且確是朝着creative mind and independent thinking這個方向的.
家長如對這類學校有興趣,除了認同它的理念外,最好亦找些外國教學的書來看看,這會比較容易明白和理解學校的做法.
之前看過一些外國教數學的文章,現舉一極端例子作參考.說極端因老師用了2堂時間做以下一件事:
The teacher drew a big boat on the ground and asked the students ‘How long is this boat?’
The students, with only very preliminary level of maths knowledge, even could not think of using a ruler for measurement.
Some sat in and some even lie down in the boat. After a long period of discussion, some ‘discovered’ that they could use ‘arm lengths’ to measure the boat. Stimulated by this idea, some suggested to use ‘foot width’. After a period of excitement, they found that all the answers were different! Each person had her own ‘length’ and ‘width’.
Then after another long period of discussion, they came to a final conclusion that they needed a ‘commonly recognized standard’. “A ruler!’ Some cried out.
整個過程中,老師沒有任何誘導性的問題.
該篇文章到此結束.沒有提及用ruler後的情況. 因老師知道已達到目的- train up 學生去找出找答案的方向.
有人會覺得重要概念才值得花時間, 有人會着眼學生討論之間意念的迸發,觀念的交流,方向的探討. --- 不同人有不同的取捨.
