ESF點排好?

They didn't even mention the priority of existing ESF kinder in their website.

I supposed because K graduates are now guaranteed a place in primary.  Then naturally they have to place all these kids before they even consider the ones on the priority list (NR, siblings, alumni etc).

but e.g. kjs, they definitely will offer the one with fp but outsider more than esf kinder with no fp....

Since it is through-train, existing K2 kids do not need to go through Y1 central applications. They will have "transition" process which will happen in early September. Y1 places will be allocated to them ahead of Y1 central applications process. So, kindy kids will receive Y1 places before any priorities.

Last year, SJS didn't even have enough places for all in-zone K2. They didn't interview any kid from central applications.

yes i know, and plus the new drop zoning policy, im frustrated how to allocate SJS and RC (which one be the first) as i dont have fp. Im afraid if i take a risk for "gambling the luck" of SJS, i will lose the chance of getting to RC as well.

as i live in MOS, what do u think about KJS, BHS and CWB?? but seems KJS and CWB no school bus to MOS.

Yes of course they need to factor in preference for those with FP for the 70% requirement for KJS and SJS etc.
eg. ESF K kids with FP will have higher chance of getting their choice of school than ESF K kids without FP.

I think chances are pretty low for P1 place in SJS and KJS if you are not ESF kindie and without FP.  A lot of ESF K kids without FP did not get into first choice KJS/SJS.

That is consistent to the time frame and the mechanism that I have understood: Stage 1 Placing all current ESF kindy pupils to their selected schools according to priority; then Stage 2, after all ESF kindy being placed, considering external applications according to the same priority eg siblings, staff kids, FP etc. Correct me if I am wrong.
But if that's case, I don't see any chance with spaces remained available at KJS and SJS at Stage 2. Again, corrent me if I am wrong.

I think there are enough K2 with FP, sibling and alumni priorities from all 5 kindergartens to take up all SJS and KJS Y1 places. So they don't need to offer any place to central application applicants.
SJS+KJS = 300 Y1 places
Just TY+TC+WKS = around 600 K2, assuming 50% have FP = 300 + K2 non FP with sibling/alumni priority

我意思就係kjs, sjs可能1個位都比唔到non fp esf kinder, 所以就諗梗博唔博，博唔到既話我放左RC係第2，但新policy下我唔知有幾多個non fp esf kinder會放rc第1，到時我驚rc d位都fill up晒，會唔知allocate我個仔去邊。

i think u are right, actually all ESF kinder already fill up all the places. A parent told me that her daughter's classmates (SJS) 80% are from ESF WKS, of coz drop zoning policy now, dunno how many ESF WKS can get the place in this year.

Just my thoughts:
1. Since BHS will go to IS, I think some "BHS zone" parents may choose KJS/CWB so that the kids will go to  KGV .

2. Tsuen Wan was in BHS zone. But it is also convenient for the kids to go to SJS/KJS.

3. Since CWB will go to KGV, CWB may become a more popular choice?

P.S. We live in Kam Tin, our son now goes to SJS Y6 (zone). If we had a choice, we would choose KJS.

If you cannot get SJS, I think you can still go into RC?

From my understanding, ESF allocates places by working down the priorities and random number one by one (not like EDB allocates by rounds)? So lower random number kids should not get a place before you?

You can double check with ESF central admissions team, if they will tell you.

I'm afraid I will get a poor random number, and don't choose RC as first place and at that time RC is being filled up, I may allocated to 3rd, 4th choice or even DC...

Oh correct me if I am wrong…if a non ESF K applicant has a sibling in SJS, will the application be processed before or after K kids applications? And also for staff kids…they may not be able to get into their first choice if places are filled up by K kids?

I think thats wrong under the through-train system and given admission time frame.
