Hi,

I'm still wondering whether I should pay the fee by the end of this month. Is Kentville really good? My boy's not very obedient. So, I'm considering choosing Kentville or Creative Primary School's Kindergarten.

Pls give some comments. Tks.

If you like Creative Primary School, go for its kindy.  You can "印印腳" after all.  If you are going to send your son to some sort of famous / traditional school, Kentville maybe in a better position for this.

Your boy is not obedient?  In what way?  My boy is not cooperative because he always wants to test his powerfulness.  My friend said it is "有性格" wor (because her boy is the same )   But in school, he can manage to get a helpfullness award.  So amazing that a little kid can be so different in school and at home!

Thank you for your sharing and useful information.
I think I will choose Kentvill and withdrawl from SC late on.
I have already issued a post cheque dated on 1 May, 05 amounted $539 for paying misc fee to SC while I paid registration fee to them. I will call bank to stop this cheque payment.

Pls be reminded not only to call bank to stop the cheque but to send a withdrawal letter to SC to stop her bank in that cheque.  I'll do that, too.

妳太客氣啦!  那些純粹個人意見.  我以前對Kentville也有點抗拒, 但對它多些了解後, 信心也多起來.  According to my friend, the workload is much more reduced recently.  I think the school is improving.

How did your boy get an award? My son also got good comments on his handbook every day (helpful, hardworking, willing to share, etc), but if you notice how busy the teachers are and that the comments are all positive, will you believe in those remarks/ award? (Sorry, I don't mean that your son may not be helpful. I just think we have no evidence how our children are behaving at school.)

Anyway, can anybody share some update information about the school? I've heard that there're a lot of tests/dictations/ homework. very traditional, how true is it?

Would you advise me to send a cheque to Kentville first and if we finally decide not to study there, then we send a withdrawal letter and stop it bank in the cheque?

I was shocked when I first heard that my boy was granted the helpfullness award.  I then asked the teacher why.  She told me whenever she called for help from the students, my boy always raised his hand and said "叫東東!"  I think the school did it seriously because they gave out a certificate and a little trophy (made of metal with a wood stand) to him.  Hmm ... even though the teacher just writes a note on the handbook, we can treat this as a little encouragement for the child.      Of course, our concerns should be expressed to the teacher and I do tell her all the bad things about my boy during parent/teacher meeting.   

If my memory is correct, there are 4 types of homework in K2 (SC gives out 3).  Well, why don't you go their K1 & K2 chatroom and ask.  I'm sure they have the most up-to-date info.
