I am a graduate of St. Rose of Lima's College.  Even though I didn't study at St. Rose of Lima's School (Primary section), the school's secondary and primary sections used to share the same campus and many of my old classmates were from the primary section too, so perhaps, I could offer you some advice.

I can tell you that both Holy Family and St. Rose are very good schools. From what I saw, the style of teaching at St. Rose primary was very traditional, meaning that students were expected to be good, well disciplined, well behaved, keep quiet etc. (and a laundary list of what so called being "good girl"). The school offers a moderate number of extra-curricular activities, but don't expect it to be as wide range as other newer schools, or schools with a Protestant background. The school's English standard is pretty decent, which mainly is a result of the family background of the students whilst most of them are from middle class families.

I had great memories of my high school, but as a "freedom seeker", the school is just too strict and conservative for me.  But I dare to say that all catholic girl schools in HK are very traditional and conservative (including St. Rose and Holy Family), so it depends on what type of education you want your duaghter to receive.  NEways, enough BS...ttul :)

噚晚温中默温到10點半都未識晒, 好彩唔係背默添.  個女呢個X'mas真係太鬆, 學過的完全比番老師啦.   亞媽想冇口甘辛苦係..........冇可能架.

近兩日公司部電腦short short o地，屋企又log in唔到。

星期六同亞女去賣旗，氣溫將會跌到得9度。

我都好認同妳選學校所考慮的因素，所以亞女都係由幼稚園開始讀起，不過其它家長唔使擔心，亞女最friend個同學都唔係St. Rose幼稚園。

根據過往兩年記錄，8月尾仲有一日要返學校，俾o的小朋友上課室見下班主任，熟悉下課室環境，有o的通告派發，最好去埋。

家課小o的都好o既，起碼可以多o的時間使。今個星期o既默書我無同亞女

hi cameo, the school did encourage the student to read more 課外書, and is truth that this is good for the children.  But the school did not force the student to read more 課外書.

我個囡囡九月都係聖羅撒讀小一,不過她讀開聖羅撒幼稚園,所以佢好開心可以係隔離小學讀書,重有好多同學仔一齊tim.

I think your girl is not from St Rose Kinder as kinder's girls get priority on waiting list.  The files are transferred from kinder to primary section, that's why primary section do not open to receive files.
Cannot tell you what content of the interview as my girl got a seat in 1st round last year, no need interview.

I see you have left several messages SOS for St. Rose seat,  while I see also many others are considering to take or give up.    It's really depend what the parents want for their kids !

my girl is from St Rose KG. we had a very very very  extremely bad luck at the lucky draw. we will have an interview soon and want to know the details. Anyone can help?? SOS

really???? she got the award at K2 last year also K3 this year. she behaves very well at the school plus good school result. hopefully she will get a seat. she feels down these few days since she really wants to go to the P.1 with her  classmates and i fell very sorry that i cannot help her at all as a mother. i made a wrong decision or her. now i only can beg a place for her. The whole game and waiting is a torture.

I believe you did rate the pros and cons for not choosing St. Rose as the 1st choice in the first round and second round.  You picked St. Mary -- may be you can also try to beg a place at St. Mary.

Don't ge so regret and upset.  Hope you can get a place in either St. Rose or St. Mary.
