想問下SPK可否直上小學?

當你報左名之後 SPK 有張白色通告比你, 內容大約話收左你$30同埋面試日期等等, 係下方有講 : It is not our policy to recommend any Primary School to parents / guardians, neither would we guarantee that our Kindergarten children will automatically be given a place in St.Paul's Convent School, Primary Section.

個人覺得呢句野都係一D保障學校既宣言, 而我有睇返上幾年 BK 小學/幼稚園討論區, 有D SPK既家長都話唔係所有學生都能夠升到. 至於原因係咩就唔知啦.

Hi, sippo,

Thx for your detailed info.  It make me to know SPK more clearly.

My girl is born in Jul 05.  And studying pre-nursery.  Do u think she will has a chance??  I think we're ok in the interview.

Your professional advise, pls.

The reason for chosing the SPK is simple.  It can make the kids to have a lot of fun when they go to school.  The girls in there can build up their confidence and learn step by step.  Unlike the other ...

老師話唔只千幾人in, 即係過二千人啦!  一日見咁多人, 仲問同一set問題, 想有表情都難啦!  

唔明學校點解要in所有人, 同埋問同一set問題

我都想問吓如果父母和小朋友都不是天主教徒是否冇機會入? 我都覺得個女機會不大, 原因有四:
1. 全家都非信教天主教
2. 無兄弟姐妹在該校讀
3. 唔識得任何人做介紹
4. 家長或小朋友都答到問題, 但表現不是太突出
集齊以上四點睇怕都幾難入到了!! 有後備都偷笑.

Last year, I was the same as most of you. Puzzled and worried!
Anyway, the interview is over. Just wait and see, good luck!

SPK to primary school: quite a lot of students, but not guaranteed. Surely the primary school will not accept the outsiders.
How to get in SPK: most likely, they really accept big boys and girls (Jan to June), still few in July and Aug. Very few are born in Dec (but they are a year older than the other kids - i.e. repeat K1)
Catholic or not? I don't think they only accept Catholics. We are not Catholic.
Nursery or not: my girls has really attended nursery, however I did not mention it in the form because it is really not a famous one, luckily, they still accepted mine.
The answers from the parents and kids: not really related to the result. My case was bad:
1. We three were late. The teacher waited for us.
2. All the document we brought was wet because of water leakage from my girl's water bottle -- very embarrassed
3. My girl sneezed in front of the teacher without covering her mouth -- no manner!
4. Parents' answers were not organzied -- because we were late and still out of breath...
So... such a bad experience  -  still can get in.
Not to worry a lot. Wait for the good news! Good luck!:D

Dear monkeybbb,

Thx for your info. So do you think it is only by luck ?? or totally because of month of birth of the child ?? or other reason like home address. Do you think it is more faourable for those who lives in HK island since the school does not want the child travel too long to school.

I am not sure what their criteria are. And by the way, we live in East Kowloon, my girl takes the school bus (van) every day and it is ok to her and me although she has to wake up at 6:30am. (haha not very ok these few days, freezing ma...)

我覺得一般啦, 詳細內容係我個 blog 度有, 不過差 d 公仔未加完. 所以要等一陣.

另外我覺得唔係睇 luck 既, 反而我會覺係睇個小朋友既性格或者特質同學校既 style 夾唔夾. 有d學校鐘意主動好動d , 有d鐘意文靜聽話d. 最主要睇下學校係想培育邊一類既學生. 就ST.Paul 而言, 我睇過有d前輩講ST.Paul既文章, 覺得ST.Paul 係想栽培一 d 全面既時代女性, 在家能作好妻子相夫教子打理頭家; 出外工作有擔當勇於面對困難. 仲有父母栽培子女既方向亦係重要一環, 所以我覺得 ST.Paul in 埋父母都係無可口非的.

Really thank you for your info . Have you got any idea on the no. of applicants last year?? And, is it common to have the kid's mom being old girls of SPK/ SPCS ?

聽聞 ST. Paul 一樣有 12月既細B 同埋 非天主教徒入到. 如果係真係咁心儀呢間學校就比個女試下啦, 如果唔得來年試多一次都值得的.
