Thanks ALL for your sharing!

There is quite a psychological hurdle to overcome when it comes to doing injection to one's own close relatives especially offsprings.  I will try to overcome this hurdle for myself first.  Heavy workload of my job has recently exhausted me and caused a couples of sleepless nights that in turn make me not very confident to do the injection...   but the very encouraging reports and sharing from you will help me to overcome my frailty.  Thank you very much!!!

Positioning is important.  Have the child lying across your lap with his/her legs hanging down the side.  Have another adult to hold the pelvis (side of the hips) while doing the injection.  I remembered that at one time when my son moved his hips so much that the needle came out before I finished injecting the drug.  Practice makes perfect.  Remember to swab the injection area with alcohol before injection.

It will be better to dispose the needle after one usage to prevent contamination of the Vit B12 or infection of your child.

Yes, all syringes are disposable and are designed for use of one time only.  If you share the syringes with more than one person there will be a serious problem.  In theory, if they are used on the same person, it's okay.  In those days when disposable syringes were not popular, syringes were made of glass and the needles were supposed to be reused.  So everytime after use, both syringes and needles would be sterilized by boiling them.

But I would prefer to use disposable ones as they are not very costly.

Hi Siu Ming,

I suggest you to take a shot yourself first.  I remembered Dommom tried once at Trodd's clinic before she started the injection to his son.  She said it's not hurt at all.  You may practise on belly pork before you become fully confident to do it.

想問你仔仔 take DMSA 那幾天點呀? 我今日去DR. LAM 度補番D SUPPLEMENTS, 佢話可以做 LAB TEST (urine and hair) 了, 拿了三次DMSA (liquid的) 回來 -- 第1日早晚各一次, 第2日食埋第三次之後就 collect 6 hours 的小便. 有點緊張... 亦怕阿仔到時唔肯wewe落那個古怪的桶度.

我仔12月16日先開始 take supplements, 都未夠一個月, take DMSA 會唔會太快呢呵?

我問dr.lam 他的 glutathione cream 是什麼 brand 的, 他答得很快說是自己 mix 出來的. 不是一隻現成的brand 喎.

我仲未自己打b12, 不過我見 dr. lam 用針筒抽出 b12 時有問他是否有一隻是現成一支支的不用這麼trouble, 他說應是dr. trodd 訂了的那隻吧, 他認為現時這隻很好, 應不會訂那隻了. (他可能最近有上來看過了)

他給了我一支針回家 practice, 說用橙皮練習下先. 他都有教要30度斜斜地打.

今次我拿了
Vitabex A+Lipoic Acid syr
Mag & Zinc syr
三隻 candy -- Coenzymated B3, Glutathione, and B12
兩隻 powder -- whey chocolate and inositol powder --> 好似唔覺呢度有提過呢隻 powder.

之前吃剩大半樽的 DMAE, nurse 說可以不用食, 但我覺得好浪費, 你估食埋有冇壞.

我係ultramom,  我都係2個幾月前先開始自已在家幫個仔打b12 針, 我好明白你的心情.
不過如果你真係覺得打針好大壓力, 不如試吓考慮用nasal spray 的b12.  我自己未試過, 不過我下次去見dr trodd時, 都會問佢攞嚟試.

我唔係好同意, 一支針要"返"用.  話哂我哋都唔係專業醫護人員(我唔係, 或者有家長係, 我講錯請指正).
我之前都打過10mg, 而家轉咗打25mg, 份量(容量, 我個仔dosage係0.05ml)少好多, 容易打得多. dr trodd的護士俾的b12針, 佢幫我一次過入好哂每次份量於針筒內, 剩番嗰個空樽(B12)都有俾番我, 如果你想知什麼牌子, 我返屋企睇吓, 再PM俾你.
仲有, DR TRODD的護士話, B12存於在雪櫃內時, 應放在深色膠袋內, 防止光線照射到.  不過雪櫃內應該都冇光, 除咗開雪櫃嗰吓會著燈.

再補充一句,唔係講笑架,用豬肉練習質感最似,我老公真係試過用豬肉來練習針灸.不過用橙皮就衛生的.

Dr. Amy Yasko has mentioned on www.autimanswer.com that IP6 = inositol powder should be helpful for OCD type behaviors such as verbal stimming and echolia.  呢隻supplement我正想online訂.我仔仔去完日本返來中左lift毒,要試呢隻野解佢既OCD.還有B12針係冇現成架,Dr.Trodd的姑娘係幫我地入好晒入針筒才比我地.你地拿回家自己一次過整都唔算好煩.

P.S. OCD=Obsessive-complusive discorder 係自閉特徵之一.

I use the 25ml concentration of B-12 shots now, thanks to Ultramom letting me know of its availability.  The volume is only 0.07 ml, it is much easier to inject.

This time, I even injected myself on the thigh to try it out, and I can assure you it does not hurt !  (Unless my pain threshold is unusual   )

但因為我係等個仔瞓咗至打, 而佢只係郁一郁, 眉頭都冇皺一吓, 所以我估唔係好痛.
不過你唔係己經轉用NASAL SPRAY FORM咩? 我約咗下周一去見DR TRODD, 我仲想叫佢開俾我試試...如果唔使打針就最好啦.  聽另一個家長話, NASAL SPRAY仲好過打針, 不過佢話唔可以等阿仔瞓咗先SPRAY, 因為會直入喉嚨, 吸收唔到喎...如果要真, 我就有D困難, 因為要叫阿仔俾我用NASAL SPRAY, 睇怕都要幾個人幫手捉住至得...
如果有TD FORM的B12就好啦....

睇黎0.07ml真係可以快的打完少的痛楚.用晒存貨一定要轉.
由於B-12 nasal spray是新出,暫時未有足夠數據証實效用跟injection一樣,相信作為附加品會隱陣的.

B12有TD form架,Dr.Trodd之前開過比仔仔,不過唔知有冇效.

Seems that the 25ml B12 is more preferable.  I would arrange a visit to Dr.Trodd next week.  For those who are consulting both Dr. Trodd and Dr. Lam (or more), would you disclose to the doctor that you also go to see other doctor(s)?  To me I think I have to inform the doctor seeing my son the kinds of supplements he is on...but I know that some doctors wouldn't agree to this kind of doctor-shopping behaviour, though they might take it as a fact... our last visit to Dr. Trodd was more than half year ago...

Ultramom, I use B-12 injections, nasal spray AND TD.  The TD cream is bright red in colour.  My kid has very, very low cobalt and has a bad case of oxidative stress.  B-12 and glutathione are the most important supplements.

What a weekend.  I ran into Chanchanboy on Saturday and HayBMomtoday.

雖然我Dr.Lam & Dr. Trodd甚致Dr.Ko都睇過,最初仔仔由Dr.Ko轉去Dr.Trodd時,我是照直講亦有需要講.因為之前做既Lab tests及食過甚麼supplements是可作參考之用.佢仲稱乎Dr.Ko英文名,懶親切咁.後來知道Trodd同Ko係好朋友黎添.致於Dr.Lam,細仔睇過一次.我當時同佢講大仔睇開Dr.Trodd,佢也很有興趣跟我談DAN Protocol.不過你仔仔case有的唔同,他是先睇Trodd跟住Lam,到現在想再轉返Trodd.我覺得作為醫生,無論甚麼情況,入得來找他診証,他也必須用同一態度處理.況且作為一位專醫白閉症的醫生,更加該懂得及體量他們父母的苦況.即管照直說,不用擔心吧!

咁係我誤會左你們說b12針用完即棄的意思了. 但係冇理由dr. lam 會咁應我架..(話知道dr. trodd 有訂, 但他不同入)

你們說的nasal spray 是很新的product 嗎, 因我也有問dr. lam, 佢初時insist 話冇, 但我話有人take 緊woh, 佢話冇理由work... 也可能是我新來的, 問得不清不楚吧.

Make a monthly diary in advance to state which dates are for which injections / medicines will help.   Of course, this is only needed for those that are not to be taken daily.
