I learnt from last week's summary sheet (the sheet distributed every Friday) that 'conversation' like 'What's your name?  My name is ~~' has been taught last week.  

My boy knew that long long time ago since he chatted with Filipino maid always.  So when I tried to ask him "What's your name?", he played with me and said "My name is 'chee sin low' (crazy guy)"          and then laughed and ran away....

Hope he won't answer the same at school lah. Otherwise it's hopeless to get the 'good conduct award'

So grateful to have u all sharing here! Let us try sng's teaching method. For me, a working mum with 2 children (the little girl is 2), it is a big challenge. My boy has cried in these 2 days by expressing his upset of being have his handwriting erased by the teacher in class. Even worse, he said he didnt want to go to sch.  
I consider to enrol my boy for the Sch. Music Festival, anyone is interested?

Blank card or blank paper.   Print (by printer) the thing you want.   Cost is little.

Those similar products available in the market are too expensive.  The cost is mostly for the nice picture, advertising, nice printing and middleman (personally opinion only).  

I think this method is more suitable for K3 or up.  But I know some parents they start practising flash card with baby at 0 years old and kids can read at their 2 to 3 years old.  It vary from case to case.

How is your boy now? Does he refuse to go to school? How would u deal with it? Tell him that he is not alone, same situations happened to others too.

For other K2 moms/dads, I have prepared a name list template so that all of us can have contacts of others in case we have questions on homework assignments or other activities.  Please contact me at "[email protected]" for such template (For K3 moms/dads, you're also welcome to do so too).  By filling up and returning the template, you agree to share with others your info and promise NOT to be used in any commercial settings.

The template has mom/dad/kid contacts and kid's name, class, bus route & teacher surnames.

Oh, don't be misunderstood that I have had any unpleasant experience with any staff of St. Joseph.

It came to my impression from past experience that the attitude of staff in some famous kinders is cool and haughty.  I had thus expected the same attitude from St. Joseph's Kinder but was a bit 'disappointed'

thx fr yr kind support which makes me   To a certain extent, my boy's upset comes from his character which is quite 懾懦. He always says something negative whenever he comes up with problem. 講反話 E.g. i dont like to go to sch., let other boys be good kids... I think it is a challenge to me as a parent to help him to face and solve problem. btw, though the teacher is strict in correcting the handwriting, it is appreciated that she gives recognition and encouragement by stamping the homework with cartoons chop.

My son told me quite a lots of kid brought rose back to school.  But teacher said they should bring fresh one.  I guess some may have brought the plastic one.
