Yes, I've checked with the class teachers too, the iPad was mainly for doing research or using special applications to arouse the interests in class. For S1 students no assignments needed to be done with iPad at home. The teachers have reassured us that there would be enough iPads to facilitate the students to share between two. I think I'm not gonna buy one unless the school said it's a necessary item for doing assignment at home.
I've asked the teachers, they confirmed that students who have joined sports activities outside school or joined school sports team do not required to join any sports club, but community services group could not be exempted since the objective was to let the students to perform the community services with their fellow schoolmates.
It's also for easier monitoring and recording of the community services done by the students in the academic years. As this information might be required when applying for the college after graduation from secondary school.
Agreed! I definitely felt more confident about the school after attending the Parents' evening. Although most of the teachers looked quite young and might only have a few years' teaching experiences, they seemed to be very passionate about teaching. The school also willing to invest in both the manpower resources and school facilities. I'm pleased with the direction of this school and hope my son has an enjoyable school life there.
